Storyteller (6:52:54 PM): You guys walk out of the compressed time four days later to a cloudy sky. It's not going to rain any time soon, but the clouds will cool things off.
Storyteller (6:53:26 PM): There's a strange sickly-sweet smell in the air.
Peter (6:54:17 PM): Peter blinked a little in the light, stretching out and yawning a little. It was nice to be back in synch with everyone else
Brian (6:54:55 PM): Brian gave a sniff at the air, the smell starting to get to him.
Storyteller (6:56:12 PM): The smell is a bit odd, some aeromatic plants, and something else .
Kentarou (6:56:38 PM): Kenji steps out into the world at large once more, feeling kind of odd. After all of the discovery and study and transformations of the past year (4 days, really) the mundane world would never look as vibrant.
Adler (6:56:41 PM): "That doesn't smell at all pleasant..." Adler frowns, one hand in her pocket, thumb rubbing over the pentagram engraved in the iron coin she used to focus.
Kentarou (6:57:05 PM): "...This is wierd... Where is it coming from?"
Brian (6:57:43 PM): ((Any rolls from the Hunter Woodsman to find out what the smell is?))
Storyteller (6:58:05 PM): The wind shifts, and it becomes apparent that the smell is coming from the west.
Peter (6:59:01 PM): "I don't know, I think it smells rather nice.."
Kentarou (6:59:38 PM): "Smells sickly to me... Let's try and find out what's making it, I don't like this..."
Brian (6:59:56 PM): Brian headed in the direction of the smell, Equan roosting nervously on his shoulder.
Peter (7:00:46 PM): He shrugged a little, slinging his fencing bag firmly over his shoulder, gaining an irate flutter of wings form Tinkerbell who quickly moved to the other shoulder
Adler (7:01:00 PM): Adler nods and follows Brian. (I presume we all have our usual shielding spells up?)
Kentarou (7:01:05 PM): Ken follows the old woodsman as well.
Brian (7:01:17 PM): ((Shielding Spells? What are those?  ;P ))
Peter (7:01:30 PM): ((Indeed, would we be able to have our usual magics up, or do we need to handle that right now?))
Brian (7:01:35 PM): ((Old? Ouch...))
Brian (7:01:46 PM): ((He's in his early thirties.))
Kentarou (7:01:47 PM): ((Naturally. Kenji's ready to cast Supreme Honing when needed as well.))
Kentarou (7:02:01 PM): ((Oh. XD You gave me the impression of a much older man. ))
Storyteller (7:02:09 PM): (You probably have your choice of spells up. Also, Wits+Investigation everyone.)
Peter (7:02:33 PM): ((Actually, hang on, lemme roll real fast for somthing I'd keep up most of the time)) OnlineHost (7:02:40 PM):
Kentarou rolled 1 10-sided die: 8
Kentarou (7:02:46 PM): (nothing) OnlineHost (7:02:49 PM):
Adler rolled 6 10-sided dice: 10 7 6 1 2 4 OnlineHost (7:03:04 PM):
Adler rolled 1 10-sided die: 1
Peter (7:03:06 PM): ((Well, here's the investigation)) OnlineHost (7:03:10 PM):
Peter rolled 1 1-sided die: 1
Adler (7:03:11 PM): (just the one) OnlineHost (7:03:15 PM):
Peter rolled 1 10-sided die: 8
Peter (7:03:19 PM): ((Nothing))
Brian (7:04:23 PM): //roll-sides10-dice4 OnlineHost (7:04:23 PM):
Brian rolled 4 10-sided dice: 8 7 8 6
Brian (7:04:27 PM): ((2))
Brian (7:04:38 PM): ((I SMELL THE SMELLS THAT MAKE THE SMELLS OF LIFE))
Kentarou (7:04:50 PM): ((XD))
Adler (7:05:12 PM): ((...Adler phails at dierolls T_T))
Peter (7:05:13 PM): ((Anybody know what the pool is on Winds of Chance?))
Storyteller (7:06:07 PM): Yeah, when you get there, you notice two things. The big dead boar was killed in some oddly ritualistic manner, and there's a ring of poison ivy around it. OnlineHost (7:07:06 PM):
Peter rolled 6 10-sided dice: 6 9 7 1 1 3
Adler (7:07:55 PM): Adler blinks quickly, pulling her arm up to cover her nose with her sleeve even as her mind puzzles out the nature of the ritual killing. (Activating "The Hidden Meaning")
Brian (7:08:14 PM): Brian looks at the scene with disgust. "I thought as much...rotting animal flesh." He kneeled down, his hand hovering over the Poison Ivy ring, but not touching it.
Peter (7:09:12 PM): "Hmmm....any idea how long ago it happened?"
Brian (7:09:14 PM): ((Hold on. Hungry. Gonna grab a sandwhich. Be back in a minute. Brian is...looking at Poison Ivy until I get back.))
Storyteller (7:09:16 PM): (Alder, Int+Occult)
Adler (7:09:34 PM): (+3 from the attainment. Right.) OnlineHost (7:09:43 PM):
Adler rolled 9 10-sided dice: 4 2 2 7 10 6 1 1 1 OnlineHost (7:09:57 PM):
Adler rolled 1 10-sided die: 10 OnlineHost (7:10:04 PM):
Adler rolled 1 10-sided die: 5
Kentarou (7:10:06 PM): "Ugh... Poor boar." Ken bent down a bit to look closely at the beast, reading the dregs of life energy around it to see when it died.
Adler (7:10:10 PM): (ok, 2 sux)
Storyteller (7:10:30 PM): (It's not a real ritual, just occult trappings.)
Kentarou (7:10:31 PM): (Activating Pulse of the Living World to see how long ago it's Life left it.)
Storyteller (7:10:53 PM): (About five hours ago)
Kentarou (7:11:24 PM): "It's been dead for almost 5 hours now. Whoever did it is probably long gone."
Peter (7:11:37 PM): "Hmmm...lemme test my intuition..."
Adler (7:11:41 PM): "The good, or perhaps bad, news is that it just appears to have been ritually slaughtered," Adler shakes her head, turning away from the grisly scene.
Adler (7:11:58 PM): ((any fate interconnections or anything?))
Peter (7:11:59 PM): ((Improvising Postcognition))
Peter (7:12:07 PM): ((Targetting five hours ago)) OnlineHost (7:12:18 PM):
Peter rolled 4 10-sided dice: 2 3 1 2
Storyteller (7:12:20 PM): (No fate interconnections that you can see)
Adler (7:12:33 PM): ((And this is the point where Mages make the other splats look like sad little lost fools))
Peter (7:13:06 PM): He thought for a moment, hand on his chin. He thought long and hard. "Hmmm....hmmm....I have determined...." He paused, his gaze and the look of concentration deepening. "...nothing."
Adler (7:14:02 PM): ((question! What's our mana resevere at?))
Kentarou (7:14:24 PM): ((Good question.))
Storyteller (7:14:26 PM): (What ever it was before you went into the time compression)
Peter (7:14:51 PM): "Or perhaps....since the beast was only killed for the purposes of the occult...I should be lookign at it differently, that's it!"
Adler (7:14:53 PM): ((makes sense. drat. 6 mana. T_T))
Peter (7:14:57 PM): ((Improving again)) OnlineHost (7:15:05 PM):
Peter rolled 4 10-sided dice: 4 9 3 4
Peter (7:15:29 PM): ((Yatta! Arispe, would you mind describing to me a three-second clip from five hours ago?))
Kentarou (7:15:52 PM): "The trail will be a bit cold, but I bet I can sniff out the culprit... Smelling a WILD BOAR in the city shouldn't be a problem. Not precisely common..."
Storyteller (7:16:56 PM): (Well, if he didn't go further out into the farmland.
Kentarou (7:17:25 PM): (Damn, true.)
Peter (7:17:47 PM): "Peculiar, peculiar indeed..." He walked around, looking at random things and nodding knowingly.
Kentarou (7:18:20 PM): "If we could find something that might have belonged to whoever did it..."
Peter (7:18:23 PM): "I see. It was a mage in a black suit! He attacked the boar who rushed at him here..." He gestured to the path that the boar took. "PPossibly to protect somthign small and bloody..."
Peter (7:18:40 PM): "And then he did the deed with a spell."
Kentarou (7:18:48 PM): "Huh..."
Kentarou (7:18:58 PM): "Small and bloody?"
Peter (7:19:11 PM): He nodded. "Small and bloody."
Brian (7:20:02 PM): (back)
Storyteller (7:20:23 PM): (WB)
Kentarou (7:21:06 PM): ((Casting Transform Self to give myself the olfactory nerves of a wild Wolf.))
Adler (7:21:06 PM): "Do you recognise the mage?"
Kentarou (7:21:06 PM): ((Spending 1 mana to do so.__ OnlineHost (7:21:15 PM):
Kentarou rolled 7 10-sided dice: 1 7 7 1 8 9 5
Kentarou (7:21:23 PM): ((Heh, 2 successes.))
Peter (7:22:25 PM): He shook his head. "I'm new to the area. Besides, this is all theory and conjecture." She shrugged
Kentarou (7:22:56 PM): Kenji falls to his hands and knees, focusing on taking in the spirit of the Wolf, of seeing through it's eyes, walking with it's paws... and smelling with it's snout.
Brian (7:23:13 PM): ((Mmmm...roast beef, sliced turkey, scraps of chicken, tuna, and ham. Good man sandwich.))
Kentarou (7:23:26 PM): He sniffs the blood of the boar, then seeks out other blood smells without that boar scent to it.
Brian (7:23:41 PM): Brian's hand simply hovered over the Poison Ivy that was circled around the boar. It was strange for it to have grown in such a peculiar fashion.
Kentarou (7:24:07 PM): "There's a trail of blood heading into the farmlands... And something ELSE... I don't know what it is..."
Kentarou (7:24:19 PM): "I think I can follow it..."
Adler (7:25:53 PM): "I suppose we might as well, all things considered. At the worst, catching up with another mage will let us get an update of what happened in the last 4 days."
Brian (7:26:13 PM): "Something else? Hmmm...let me see...." Brian's eyes closed, his staff resting in his hands in a sort of prayer. "Mother Gaia...Sister Ivy of Poisonous Lace...show me your secrets...what did you contain?"
Storyteller (7:26:52 PM) has entered the room.
Adler (7:26:52 PM) has entered the room.
Peter (7:26:52 PM) has entered the room.
Kentarou (7:26:52 PM) has entered the room.
Brian (7:26:52 PM) has entered the room.
Storyteller (7:27:08 PM): (WB )
Brian (7:27:10 PM): Brian's eyes opened, the Aether itself touching into his eyes, creating the formation of ethereal blooms around his irises.
Brian (7:27:24 PM): ((Activating Supernal Vision. Searching for any and all magical traces and paths in the area.))
Storyteller (7:27:54 PM): (There's magic holding the ivy in that shape, and a trail of it that Kenji seems to be following)
Brian (7:28:51 PM): Brian stood up, following along with Kenji. "I can see your path. Use your nose to aid me from straying."
Kentarou (7:29:10 PM): Kenji nods, letting out an affirmative... growl?
Storyteller (7:29:46 PM): You both easily follow the magical trail/smell of blood and something else to another site, much like this one.
Storyteller (7:30:15 PM): Only the boar his its innards ripped out and placed into a crude approximation of the symbol of fate.
Kentarou (7:30:39 PM): Ken covers his nose and shakes his head a little to clear it. "...pig serial killer or something?"
Brian (7:30:53 PM): Brian gave a snuffle. "Such a waste...animals are meant to be eaten. Not left to rot in the field."
Brian (7:31:04 PM): "At least he used the innards for something this time."
Storyteller (7:32:28 PM): The trail leads on, further.
Adler (7:33:42 PM): "..." Adler grimaces, studying the symbol briefly before following on.
Peter (7:34:16 PM): "This is most odd..."
Brian (7:34:41 PM): Brian continues to follow the trail, the bloom in his eyes now growing even larger, the tapping of the Aether flowing from the surface of his eyes, and now deeper into his head.
Brian (7:35:03 PM): Small dusts of ghostly pollen seem to be floating from the corners of his eyes.
Kentarou (7:35:33 PM): Kenji continues the trail as well, for his part sniffing more audibly and dropping to all fours more often than not...
Storyteller (7:36:58 PM): It's pretty easy, following the path north-east, but then it suddenly splits into three trails.
Brian (7:37:31 PM): Brian stops at the crossroads. "...the trail splits. There was more than one person here."
Brian (7:37:56 PM): Or, whoever it was can split into multiple parts. Brian kept that thought to himself.
Adler (7:38:30 PM): "Maybe. Maybe Not."
Kentarou (7:38:34 PM): "Or one person who is trying to throw us off... but we can't tell."
Adler (7:39:58 PM): "Of course we can...with the right tools. Or rather, the right person, rather," she says, glancing at Peter.
Kentarou (7:40:36 PM): "Heh, oh right.
Peter (7:40:46 PM): Her blinked for a few moments. "Well, let me gather my wits and see what I can figure out, first I need information, like how long ago they were here?"
Adler (7:41:44 PM): "Perhaps a more pertenent question would be, 'Which path will let us find him quickest.' Can you tell that?" Adler suggests quietly
Peter (7:43:35 PM): He shrugged. "I'll just trust my intuition." He grinned a little bit as he pointed his hand out, letting it drift back and forth like a divining rod.
Peter (7:43:42 PM): ((Casting Reading the Outmost Eddies))
Storyteller (7:44:31 PM): Your hand settles right in the middle of the rightmost, and middle lines.
Peter (7:44:42 PM): ((Oh, ok))
Peter (7:44:53 PM): He sighed. "One of those...not quite sure which..."
Adler (7:46:06 PM): "Well, its just down to a coinflip. Or I suppose we could pull a Scooby Doo...does that make me Velma?"
Peter (7:46:19 PM): "Scooby Doo?"
Brian (7:46:25 PM): Brian gave a loud grunt.
Brian (7:46:49 PM): "I and the smart one will go down the far right."
Brian (7:46:56 PM): "Kenji and Peter will go down the middle."
Brian (7:47:14 PM): "Each group has someone that can follow the trail, and neither group will be going solo. We'll call if we see anything."
Brian (7:47:33 PM): Without waiting, Brian began his slow and deliberate plodding down the Rightmost path.
Brian (7:47:48 PM): ((Obrimos. Go Figure.))
Adler (7:48:26 PM): Adler pauses for a moment, "Peter...?"
Kentarou (7:48:33 PM): Kenji nods and starts down the path. "Stay close Peter, and tell me right away if you sense something..."
Storyteller (7:48:50 PM): The rightmost path is very long, and squiggly. It leads to a set up like the first you encountered, only the 'boar' is made of plants.
Peter (7:49:30 PM): He had just started walking and then he turned back with a small blush on his face. "Umm...yeah?" A disgruntled flutter of wings indicated Tink starting to
Peter (7:49:31 PM): just go down the path. "Ah, Tink, wait up!" He said in an antagonized voice
Storyteller (7:49:47 PM): The middle path is very short. No boar, just a circle of ivy, with representations of all the arcana in rusty iron.
Adler (7:50:24 PM): "Be careful, ok?" she hesitates for a moment, takes a half-step towards him...and then runs off after Brian, who is probably a good deal ahead at that point.
Peter (7:50:41 PM): He nodded and then chased after Tinkerbell, coming to the circle of ivy.
Brian (7:51:27 PM): Brian stared at the boar, his eyes searching for any special magic in the boar-plant.
Storyteller (7:51:56 PM): There seems to be something in there focusing the line of magic, and bending it.
Brian (7:52:34 PM): Brian's eyes squinted, the pollen now becoming thicker. He didn't want to keep his true eyes open much longer. The Aether was already beginning to seep through the nerves connecting his eyes to his brain.
Adler (7:52:54 PM): Adler again uses her unique talent, calling on the insight of her awakened soul as she looks over the bar.
Brian (7:53:15 PM): "There's something in there..."
Kentarou (7:53:27 PM): "Kenji chases after Peter, sighing exasperatedly. "PETER, you have to keep her under control. We aren' playing a game here. If you die from being careless, it's permanent."
Kentarou (7:54:13 PM): He skidded to a stop at the circle, taking a good look at all of the arcana symbols, wrought in iron.
Peter (7:54:38 PM): "Sorry!" He blushed deeply. "She's not a pet, I can't just make her do whatever I want, oh, Tink! Wait!" Finally the pixie slowed down with a disgruntled noise
Peter (7:54:38 PM): and floated back to sit on his head this time, sticking her tounge out childishly
Adler (7:54:47 PM): "Looks like..." Adler pauses, "Wierd ritual. Death based, for certain...probably feeding off the death-energies of the dead boars, I would guess."
Kentarou (7:55:10 PM): "Yeah, I know that, but she's still your familiar and you have to be responsible for her, that's all."
Peter (7:55:56 PM): "My familiar?" He looked up. "Familiar my ass ya moron." She raised her hand and took a small swat at the Acanthus' head, eliciting a wince form him.
Kentarou (7:56:10 PM): The Thyrsus kneels at the iron workings and the circle of ivy. "Hmm... can you sense anything about these iron arcana symbols?"
Peter (7:56:23 PM): "Lemme see..."
Kentarou (7:56:28 PM): He rolled his eyes at the pair. They were more like a comedy duo than anything else.
Peter (7:56:31 PM): ((Improving interconnections)) OnlineHost (7:56:37 PM):
Peter rolled 3 10-sided dice: 8 2 1
Brian (7:57:05 PM): Brian growled. "This is an insult to Mother Gaia in all her wonder."
Kentarou (7:57:06 PM): ((Casting Spirit Tongue to see if there are any local spirits bound to the circle or something.))
Adler (7:58:03 PM): "I can't help but agree in this case...I wonder what the others have found..." Adler ponders for a moment.
Brian (7:58:32 PM): ((Going to do an Improv rote to attempt to break the circle of poison ivy.))
Adler (7:58:39 PM): "I suppose I could ask Peter."
Peter (7:58:42 PM): ((Improving sybil's sight)) OnlineHost (7:58:54 PM):
Peter rolled 3 10-sided dice: 6 6 4
Adler (7:59:03 PM): "Want me to?"
Peter (7:59:12 PM): He sighed and shook his head. "I just don't know..."
Brian (8:02:26 PM): Brian took his walking stick, the spear point digging through the Poison Ivy circle, breaking the formation and digging up the earth.
Brian (8:02:40 PM): "First the Poison Ivy. Then whatever is in the pig plant."
Kentarou (8:02:53 PM): Kenji furrowed his brow. "There doesn't seem to be any PURPOSE to these things...
Kentarou (8:03:05 PM): It's like we're being made fun of..."
Peter (8:03:30 PM): He nodded. "I'm in the same boat as you"
Brian (8:04:16 PM): Brian looked over at Adler. "No. We're in two groups. And we don't go for help unless we're in trouble. It would waste time."
Storyteller (8:04:19 PM): There is stil a trail of blood smell for you to follow if you want. It's overpoweringly strong now that the wind has shifted.
Brian (8:04:53 PM): "If you wish to help, use that fancy book of yours to ask about what this ritual could be doing, and for what reason."
Brian (8:05:05 PM): (("I know! Let's ask the Book of Infinite Knowledge!"))
Kentarou (8:05:48 PM): Ken's eyes watered and his shook his head clear again as a maddeningly powerful wave of blood-smell hit him. "Ugh, we've got more trail to follow... Let's keep going." HE led the way.
Peter (8:06:48 PM): He nodded and followed Ken
Adler (8:07:16 PM): "I have no idea what to ask it, though. Have to ask it the right question, or it won't tell me anything. And I wasn't going to go anywhere. There are other ways to get in contact with him...although..."
Adler (8:08:21 PM): "Don't know his real name, I think. That would be a problem. Oh, well...does the trail keep going?"
Brian (8:08:34 PM): Brian managed to dig up the ring of Poison Ivy, at least managing to break that part of the ritual.
Storyteller (8:08:41 PM): Book says, yes.
Brian (8:09:37 PM): Brian shook off the dirt from the staff. "Fine. Let's keep going." He turned to head further down the path.
Storyteller (8:11:30 PM): When the two groups meet up, it's a blood bathed version of the first set up. There is a corpse here that seems to have had all the blood in it forcibly expelled all at once.
Peter (8:11:41 PM): "So...any ideas on what this could all be about Ken? I have to admit, I'm a little clueless here"
Peter (8:11:56 PM): "Oh my...."
Adler (8:11:57 PM): Adler follows, twisting a few hairs in-between her fingers.
Adler (8:12:46 PM): "...ugh..." I think I'm going to be sick. Adler twists away, hand over her mouth and nose.
Brian (8:12:58 PM): Brian halts, his eyes forcing themselves shut. The Aether gave beauty, detail, and pure truth...but it never gave mercy. And using his True Sight on a mutilated corpse...was never a good idea.
Kentarou (8:13:05 PM) has left the room.
Peter (8:13:38 PM): He drew back for a moment, his hands raising to cover his nose and mouth, and Tinkerbell hid herself in his hood "God...what would do this?"
Kentarou (8:14:13 PM) has entered the room.
Kentarou (8:14:22 PM): ((Grrrrrrrr...))
Storyteller (8:14:43 PM): (Welcome Back)
Brian (8:15:02 PM): ((By Corpse, do you mean a pig corpse, or a human corpse?))
Storyteller (8:15:09 PM): (Human.)
Peter (8:15:17 PM): ((O.O))
Storyteller (8:15:20 PM): *Sorry, forgot to specify)
Peter (8:15:21 PM): ((Oh))
Kentarou (8:15:58 PM): Any reply that Ken might have had for Peter was forced out of him by the sight of the slaughter they came upon...
Peter (8:16:04 PM): "I...I think that might be the man..."
Kentarou (8:16:28 PM): "Holy SHIT..." The wolf instincts he had adopted were kind of telling him to run away with his tail between his legs... or scavenge, whichever came first.
Peter (8:16:36 PM): ((Oh, I'm a dice over spell tolerance, didn't notice that))
Peter (8:17:13 PM): ((Oh well, improving postcognition, aiming for about when Ken picked up the scent of blood)) OnlineHost (8:17:19 PM):
Peter rolled 3 10-sided dice: 2 9 2
Peter (8:17:31 PM): ((A 3-second snippet if you wouldn't midn Arispe?))
Peter (8:18:54 PM): Peter suddenly dropped to his knees, looking like he was barely managing to hold back the reth his stomach tried to force forth. Even as such, he nodded for a second and pointed one hand over into the bushes
Peter (8:19:05 PM): ^retch
Brian (8:19:38 PM): Brian took a deep breath, the flowers leaving his eyes. He walked over to the bushes, using his spear to spread them apart.
Kentarou (8:19:40 PM): Ken sensed Peter's sickness and patted him on the back, trying to offer some support. "This is... god..."
Storyteller (8:20:07 PM): There is a very bloodied bloodstone in the bushes.
Adler (8:20:10 PM): Brian can see a twist of mental energy as Adler stares at the distorted and darkened surface of the iron coin in her hand, the horror literally draining from her face (along with every other emotion) before...
Adler (8:20:17 PM): she turns back to look at the corpse
Adler (8:21:05 PM): (Mind 3 version of Supress Wisdom, to supress her horror at the deeds of others, I guess...not that it matters statistics-wise)
Adler (8:21:48 PM): Her eyes slowly scan over the corpse dispassionatly, reading the subtle clues of the area.
Storyteller (8:22:12 PM): Something went horribly wrong here, that much is obvious.
Adler (8:22:20 PM): ((sorry I was late on the "Brian still has mage sight" thing. Had to look up the spell I was refering to)
Brian (8:23:49 PM): Brian pulled at the bloodstone with his walking staff, using the rustic iron to push it out.
Storyteller (8:24:18 PM): It's not embedded or anything.
Storyteller (8:24:33 PM): It's just lying in the bushes. You push it around easily.
Adler (8:24:45 PM): Adler turns her attention to the stone that Brian is pushing around.
Peter (8:25:07 PM): He stayed down on his knees, but he seemed to have resisted his illness. "He was jsut sitting here by himself...and then he burst..."
Kentarou (8:26:36 PM): Ken nods, squeezing Peter's shoulder. "You've got to stay strong, we can't do this without you." ((I still have my Spirit Tongue active, is the area clear?))
Storyteller (8:27:03 PM): (A few minor spirits have wandered in)
Kentarou (8:28:01 PM): Ken kneels down, speaking to thin air as far as the other Mages can tell. "Hey... Do you guys know who did this?" Ken addresses the group of minor spirits, they had to have seen or sensed something...
Adler (8:28:11 PM): "What's with the stone?"
Storyteller (8:28:34 PM): The spirits reply that they don't know. OnlineHost (8:29:24 PM):
Adler rolled 5 10-sided dice: 3 8 5 8 1
Adler (8:29:36 PM): (activating Mage Sight. Mind variant)
Adler (8:29:51 PM): (In addition to The Hidden Meaning)
Adler (8:32:54 PM): "...Pity not this wretched fool, who would seek to sell his soul and consume those of others to grasp at immortality's hem." Adler pronounces coldly.
Kentarou (8:33:23 PM): Ken looked at Adler oddly. "...what?"
Brian (8:34:30 PM): "What are you speaking, girl?"
Adler (8:34:33 PM): The teenager turns away from everything, her body shaking, "He sought to become a Tremere Lich"
Kentarou (8:34:54 PM): "Those are those soul eaters, right?"
Peter (8:35:12 PM): "Lich?"
Adler (8:36:26 PM): "Mages who sell their soul for the ability to consume those of others. While they continue to eat, they continue to live. Potentially forever..." Adler's voice trails off, softer than a whisper
Adler (8:36:51 PM): she sits, clutching her knees to her chest, still facing away from everyone.
Brian (8:37:06 PM): "...is that the beast?"
Brian (8:37:13 PM): "He was HERE. Not but five hours ago?"
Adler (8:37:26 PM): (...actually, that much info should probably have required an Occult roll, to be honest)
Storyteller (8:38:23 PM): (We'll say, for the sake of good drama, that you made the roll)
Adler (8:38:26 PM): (well...except for the fact that she's Eidetic)
Brian (8:38:33 PM): ((We'll also say that you have a book that should have told you THAT.))
Adler (8:39:32 PM): "The beast was here?"
Storyteller (8:39:51 PM): (So, one way or another, you found out what Liches are)
Kentarou (8:40:21 PM): "...I always thought they were some Arrow enemy, like a monster. They're mages?"
Storyteller (8:40:39 PM): (And those that know, The Beast is not a Lich. You can say that with certainty)
Adler (8:40:48 PM): "Damned and condemned. A Left-handed Legacy."
Kentarou (8:40:58 PM): Ken sighs. "Damn... This is getting more complicated..."
Peter (8:42:11 PM): He shook his head. "Well, why did he explode?
Brian (8:42:35 PM): "To kill him, obviously."
Peter (8:43:33 PM): "Nobody deserves that..." He shuddered and pushed himself up, straying away a little bit with his arms crossed very tightly and his shoulders hunched up
Storyteller (8:43:36 PM): Everyone give me a notice roll. (Wits+Composure)

Storyteller (8:45:38 PM): A bit before this one guy in a white tux notices all of you and runs the fuck away, Ken can smell him coming.
Peter (8:46:09 PM): He blinked. "Should I catch him?"
Kentarou (8:46:11 PM): Ken falls to his hands and knees and whirls around in the direction of the smell. "Who's there!?"
Storyteller (8:46:29 PM): The guy is off to the races.
Brian (8:46:50 PM): Brian looked over at his hawk familiar. "...Equan. Go for the face."
Kentarou (8:46:55 PM): ((Casting Supreme HOning to catch up with the guy,))

Kentarou (8:48:59 PM): Ken's body seemed to tighten and coil like a deadly spring, ever so subtly, then he SPRANG, shooting off like a wild beast at the man's heels.
Peter (8:49:00 PM): He turned to Addler. "Should w go with?"
Adler (8:49:39 PM): "...better there than here," the girl says, standing and brushing herself off before following the others
Kentarou (8:49:45 PM): He leapt at the white suit, bringing his nearly supernaturally strong hands down on hsi shoulders to pin him. ((Braw+Strength?))

Peter (8:55:15 PM): He followed Adler, looking a bit muddled
Storyteller (8:55:47 PM): Lone man in a white tux that runs like hell and smells a bit like it should be easy to follow.
Kentarou (8:55:58 PM): ((Heh.))
Kentarou (8:56:27 PM): Ken makes another tackle attempt, springing low at his legs... if this didn't work they'd have to go for another strategy. OnlineHost (8:56:45 PM):

Peter (9:03:17 PM): ((2))
Peter (9:03:22 PM): ((3 is WP))
Brian (9:04:13 PM): Brian's walking stick scraped along the ground, the rustic iron sparking against the rocks. "Gaia! Slow our foe!"
Brian (9:04:54 PM): His words came out in a strange chant, floating between the ears of the group. Lightning shot down from the sky, enveloping the man in the white tux.

Kentarou (9:06:15 PM): Ken's eyes went wide. "Wow. Guess I won't have to think of something NOW."
Brian (9:06:27 PM): Equan landed on the cage, looking proudly at its catch.
Kentarou (9:06:30 PM): He strode over the the cage and stared the man inside of it down.
Kentarou (9:06:49 PM): "So... Who're you and why were you spying on us?"
Peter (9:07:16 PM): ((Raiden, did you remember to subtract his defense form your pool?))
Peter (9:07:32 PM): ((Or wait..nvm))
Peter (9:07:38 PM): ((What spell was that one?))
Brian (9:07:44 PM): ((improv.))
Brian (9:07:51 PM): ((Not an attack. A trap.))
Storyteller (9:08:02 PM): "... ... ... Please don't kill me like you did that other guy!" he wails loudly.
Brian (9:08:43 PM): Brian walked up slowly, his walking stick clanking against the cage. "...fool. If we had done that, why would I have captured you? I could just as easily have let you fry."
Adler (9:08:50 PM): Adler splits a look of concern between the lightning and Peter.
Storyteller (9:09:06 PM): "... Good point."
Peter (9:09:18 PM): He sighed a little bit.
Storyteller (9:10:10 PM): "I am Lazarus."
Brian (9:10:58 PM): "And why were you out here?"
Storyteller (9:11:21 PM): "Investigating the killing of some wild pigs."
Adler (9:11:39 PM): "Peter? What's wrong." Adler is rather obviously ignoring the fact that her hands are still shaking.
Adler (9:11:53 PM): ((Gak, that's supposed to be a question))
Brian (9:12:06 PM): "And you're doing it in a white tuxedo out here in the forest? Forgive me if I don't believe it." The walking stick continued to clink against the cage of lightning.
Peter (9:12:14 PM): "This is what's wrong. Someone explodes, we find out they're terrible, and then we imprison some poor man who thinks we're terrible, what's not wrong about this?"
Storyteller (9:12:39 PM): "I really wouldn't call this a forest. At best it's low plains with a few trees."
Storyteller (9:13:59 PM): "And I like white and own a tux store, so consider it advertising."
Brian (9:14:44 PM): Brian stared at the man in the cage. "...owner of a tuxedo store hunting down what's killing wild pigs. Again. Color me a doubter."
Adler (9:15:02 PM): "...not very much, to be honest..." Adler glances at the cage of lightning, "Hey, are you going to try to run again if we let you out? Or Disappear, or whatever?"
Storyteller (9:15:25 PM): "If I could disappear, why should the cage make any difference?"
Adler (9:15:48 PM): "Point."
Brian (9:16:52 PM): "If he runs, I won't stop at a cage."
Storyteller (9:16:55 PM): "Hrm. Tell me, do you know what killed the wild pigs?"
Adler (9:18:00 PM): ((Safe to assume this guy is a mage, at this point, eh?))
Storyteller (9:18:20 PM): (Probably)
Adler (9:19:27 PM): "Either the mage, or whatever killed him, I guess."
Storyteller (9:19:45 PM): "I'd say it's the mage."
Storyteller (9:21:17 PM): "And, eh, let's say I've been watching him, untill he disappeared recently."
Brian (9:21:44 PM): "Disappeared?"
Storyteller (9:22:14 PM): "Poof, gone. Suddenly, he's not showing up at any of his normal haunts."
Adler (9:23:14 PM): "Well, that isn't suprising for someone looking to head down a left-handed path, really."
Storyteller (9:23:14 PM): "Real suspicious, considering that he was last seen talking with some unknown guy."
Storyteller (9:23:18 PM): "Eh? Left hand?"
Adler (9:23:26 PM): "Tremere Lich"
Storyteller (9:23:44 PM): The man is stunned speachless.
Storyteller (9:24:37 PM): "Heh. Wow. Never knew...."
Adler (9:24:40 PM): "Brian, let the poor man out of your Lightning Trap..."
Kentarou (9:25:09 PM): "I don't think he's our culprit, either."
Adler (9:25:37 PM): "Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...Mr...ahh...?"
Storyteller (9:25:49 PM): "Lazarus."
Brian (9:26:20 PM): "...fine." Brian tapped the cage with the gemstone on his walking stick. The cage flashed brightly, then disappeared.
Brian (9:29:39 PM): "Just remember not to try anything."
Storyteller (9:29:56 PM): "I'll be on my best behaviour."
Storyteller (9:31:24 PM): "So, the bad news?"
Adler (9:32:55 PM): "Well, the whole 'Your pal was dead and, oh ya, he was looking into becoming a soul-devouring monster' kinda strikes me as bad news."
Storyteller (9:33:25 PM): "Oh. He's not my pal. Just someone I kept an eye on. Bit of an asshole, you know."
Storyteller (9:34:29 PM): "I mean, I still smell like hell after his last petty revenge."
Brian (9:35:14 PM): Brian gave a 'get to the point' look.
Storyteller (9:36:18 PM): "Er. I'm here because I thought that the javalina killing was part of some utterly deranged plan on his part to get revenge? I'm not certain what point you want me to get to."
Brian (9:36:40 PM): "Like...who the fucker is."
Storyteller (9:37:08 PM): "Some asshole of a mage called Jesus." He says the name in Spanish.
Brian (9:37:39 PM): "Is that his true name?"
Storyteller (9:37:56 PM): "I actually think it is."
Brian (9:38:23 PM): Brian looked up at Equan, making a motion for his hawk to remember it. "What did he tend to do?"
Storyteller (9:39:19 PM): Your hawk gives you a look, as if to say "Hell if I know."
Storyteller (9:40:18 PM): Or it may be saying "Is this some joke I'm not getting?".
Brian (9:40:46 PM): ((He asked Lazarus what the mage did. He just told Equan to remember Jesus.))
Storyteller (9:41:48 PM): "Ah. He, as far as I know was just a small time bookie."
Adler (9:41:50 PM) has left the room.
Brian (9:42:03 PM): "Obviously not too small time to become a lich."
Storyteller (9:42:39 PM): "Heh. When Mr. Soze is in town, everyone seems small time."
Peter (9:42:56 PM): "Mr Soze?"
Kentarou (9:42:58 PM): "Soze?"
Storyteller (9:43:09 PM): "Keyser Soze?"
Storyteller (9:43:19 PM): "You know, that guy?"
Brian (9:43:54 PM): "No. I don't."
Kentarou (9:43:55 PM): "Nope."
Storyteller (9:44:43 PM): "Infamous criminal mastermind? Managed to get himself as the subject of a movie covertly?"
Adler (9:45:42 PM) has entered the room.
Adler (9:45:50 PM): ugh
Adler (9:45:53 PM): (())
Storyteller (9:46:04 PM): (Welcome Back)
Storyteller (9:46:24 PM): "Guy who put our a collectable bounty on that monster?:
Brian (9:47:00 PM): "HE was the one?"
Kentarou (9:47:12 PM): ""OH. Huh... He was a criminal mastermind?"
Kentarou (9:47:30 PM): "It's been a long time, I almost forgot we wer ebeing paid..."
Storyteller (9:47:40 PM): "Well, mostly he deals in drugs, they say. With a little occult on the side, if you know what I mean."
Brian (9:48:43 PM): Brian nodded. Equan was remembering all of this to spit back later.
Brian (9:49:13 PM): "Would this mage trying to become a lich have any connection to this 'beast' that's eating supernaturals?"
Storyteller (9:49:45 PM): "Er, I think a sleepwalker friend of his got offed by the thing. I'm not certain..."
Peter (9:50:03 PM): "I would hope not. A soul-steeler and that monstrosity together would bode ill for us all."
Adler (9:53:36 PM): "...ugh..."
Storyteller (9:54:48 PM): "Well, I suppose it could get worse if that happened."
Brian (9:54:53 PM): "We were preparing to take out the beast itself. We were prepared for that. We could have done it. But now...this makes things a bit harder."
Storyteller (9:55:59 PM): "OH?"
Storyteller (9:55:59 PM): "Have you heard the latest news about the thing?"
Brian (9:56:40 PM): "News? Something new has happened in the last four days?"
Storyteller (9:57:23 PM): "Yep, Yep. A Banisher got offed."
Storyteller (9:58:29 PM): "There was also a mortal, but not its style."
Storyteller (10:00:32 PM): His voice drops a little. "They say that the mortal had his soul removed."
Brian (10:01:14 PM): "A Banisher now...we'll have to face another set of powers. And a mortal that had his soul removed...a Soul Stealer and a Creature are on the move, killing Supernaturals. But the Sleepers are now in danger as well."
Kentarou (10:01:19 PM): "So... maybe the work of this guy here?"
Brian (10:01:21 PM): "Need to defend them."
Kentarou (10:01:41 PM): Ken nods. "This is getting more and more serious. It's not just in our world now."
Storyteller (10:01:58 PM): "Probably not this guy. I doubt he managed to become a Lich."
Brian (10:03:40 PM): "It matters not. They'll both be dead soon. There is no salvation for offenses against Gaia such as this."
Storyteller (10:04:55 PM): "Hey, if you ever need some nice dress clothes, here's my card."
Storyteller (10:05:22 PM): "Er. I am assuming that I can leave now. Can I?"
Brian (10:08:36 PM): Brian took the card, giving it a small look over. "I have your number now. So sure."
Storyteller (10:08:55 PM): "Well, later folks." And he walks off.
Adler (10:09:18 PM): "...well, that was odd..."
Brian (10:09:34 PM): "Very odd." He slid the card into the robes of his fur.
Peter (10:10:00 PM): He nodded a little
Kentarou (10:10:22 PM): Ken scratched his head. "Well... what next?"
Adler (10:13:00 PM): "We need to figure out how to track down the beast-thing. I think that should be our top priority..." Adler suggests.
Brian (10:14:03 PM): "We have the shotgun. And this creature...it seems to be hungry. And when you want to catch a hungry beast...you leave out something to attract it."
Brian (10:14:14 PM): "What we need is something it would want to eat."
Peter (10:14:46 PM): "The book"
Peter (10:15:55 PM): "It said it wanted to eat that Prime-guy's soul, and isn't this book the last little bit of the Fate Archmaster's?"
Adler (10:16:44 PM): "Hmm....Book, what do you think? Would you make good bait for the monster?"
Peter (10:17:00 PM): ((10 to 1 the book says no, lol)
Storyteller (10:17:22 PM): "Given what is known about it, I would if used in rituals to gather its attention."
Peter (10:17:37 PM): ((Or he could be more charitable, lol))
Adler (10:20:19 PM): "Maybe we should check with Abuelo and see what's been going on..."
Brian (10:23:08 PM): "Of course. We'll go see about this new murder. Not to mention see what we can do about setting a place of battle."
Adler (10:25:41 PM): "Right then...lets do that, I suppose."
