Adler: Setting: the top of the university tower. Time: Approximatly 4-5 hours after Peter went to sleep.
Peter: -noddles-
Adler: Adler begins to shift in her sleep, half-uttered mumbles and moans escaping her, a few minutes before she jerks awake with a shriek, tumbling off of the cot that she was lying on and landing with a solid thud on the floor.
Peter: At the sound of a shriek, Peter pushed himself up with his hands, having been laying face-down and still wet. "Wha?" He looked around, very confused until he spotted a prone Adler. "Adler?"
Adler: Adler is trembling like a leaf, her eyes wide but not focused on anything in perticular, her breathing quick and shallow, though it is slowing down to a more normal rate.
Peter: In a hurry, he scrambled out of bed. "Hey, hey, what's wrong Adler?" He managed to maneuver himself over to an untidy sprawl next to you.
Adler: "N-n-nothing. J-just a ni-nightmare." the obviously distressed girl stammers out, curling her knees up and wrapping her arms around her legs.
Peter: He reached out, tentatively putting a hand on yours. "Hey..." He waited for you to look at him. "Hey, it'll be alright, it was only a bad dream"
Adler: "...ohgod..." If Peter is decent at reading people
Adler: 's faces, her's is definatly at 'trying not to cry'
Peter: "Hey, hey, it's ok, I'm here for you..." He pulled her into an akward soggy sort of hug. "Don't worry about it, I won't let anythign hurt you, I promise."
Adler: She rests her head against his shoulder, still shaking. "...h-hate having to l-look at scary st-stuff."
Peter: "Shhhhh" He gently stroked the back of her head. "It'll be alright, even if it's scary, it can't hurt you." He gently rested the side of his face against hers
Adler: She manages a shaky laugh, "Ya. S-stupid, huh?"
Peter: He shook his head. "No, not stupid, just hard to put faith in. It's hard to believe that somthign that looks frightening can't actually hurt us, or that what happened to it can't happen to us. It's a leap of faith a lot of people can't make."
Adler: She finally seems like she's getting the shaking under control, "Stupid brain putting together memories and imagination..."
Peter: "You're not stupid Adler. Think about it, you're a bajillion times smarter than me, if you're stupid, what does that make me? Hell, I'm not even using real numbers."
Adler: "Silly then," Adler mumbles, brushing the unfallen tears out of her eyes.
Peter: "Well...yeah, a little silly like the rest of us. Would you rather be silly, or inhuman?" He turned to you with a grin as he took one hand to cup a finger under your chin and pull you up to face him
Adler: "Dunno. Which one gets to forget things?" She's got a sort-of smile on her face.
Peter: "Well, what if you had to forget about everything to forget one thing? Would you give up all of the things you know to stop one bad dream?"
Adler: "...?" Adler looks at him quizzically for a moment, "No..."
Peter: He hugged her a bit tighter for just a second. "Well, sometimes we have tot ake the good with the bad." He smiled a bit at her. "You remember bad thigns, btu we can work through that, and you can get over beign afraid, it'll be alright."
Adler: "Certainly don't want to forget the good things."
Peter: He nodded. "Feel better?"
Adler: She nods. "A little."
Peter: "You want some hot chocolate? I coudl go jimmy open the lock ont he cafeteria and use the coffee machine there."
Adler: "Bad boy..."
Peter: "What? I'll pay for it, I just need to get inside to use it." He reached in his pocket and pulled out a few quarters. "Hot chocolate's cheap."
Adler: "Oh...hmm..." Adler realises that she's a good deal wet. "Jeez, you were really soaked."
Peter: "Well, I don't exactly have a laundary machine, and hot water's a better cleaner than nothing."
Adler: "Good thing its not too cold out...we seriously need to get you something other than sneaking around the university facilities for living space."
Peter: "Why, this is nice and safe...besides...somthing just feels...energetic here." He grinned, refering to the hallow that was present
Adler: "Ya, that's because of the Hallow that's up here. But that will make you a target. Mages arn't exactly the nicest people some of the time..."
Peter: "Well, you and Ken seem fine, and while Assertive, Brian's basically a giant electrical teddy-bear." He grinned and shrugged. "Besides, what's better than living free?"
Adler: "Safety. Security. Knowing you can't pick up and run off at a momen...." Adler blushes briefly, and mentally kicks herself.
Peter: "I feel safe and secure here, I don't think most people really come up. And besides, what if Wendy moved and I lost her while trying to get my stuff together?"
Adler: Adler drops her head, but before her hair gets in the way you can see she's pretty distressed by that question.
Peter: "You coudl always come with me? I just...I can't risk losing her again, I've been chasing her for six years."
Adler: Her laugh is weak, short, and bitter, "Oh come Peter, how is that going to look. 'Hi Wendy, I've been following you for six years. Oh, her? This is my friend Adler. She's been wandering around with me, just the two of us, for the last three months.'"

When you look too far ahead like you're doing, everything becomes abotu choices, one or the other, now or later, red or black, do or do not, you or Wendy. Why've you got to make things like that?" You could feel his grip slacken
Adler: "Because I'm an asshat, I guess. I'm sorry Peter. I guess its part of who I am. Maybe part of the infuence of my watchtower..." she wraps an arm around him, "Please don't go..."
Peter: "You're nto an asshat...I just don't understand why you're trying to attack everything about me." He hugged you again, tightening his embrace and holding you close. Adler: "S'not what Tink said. She told me you always do, just take off running after Wendy without hardly a moment's notice..."
Peter: "What's Tink got to do with anything? Besides, Wendy's here, I can feel it. This clocktower, the hollow thingy, the fairy dust, they're all connected, I know they are."
Adler: "Promise?" She looks up again.
Peter: "I swear it. I swear on everything I am that I'll stay by your side, and that I'll protect you forever." He smield in a cavelier fasion at you. If you have an awareness of Fate Magic, Fate 2, Swear Oath
Adler: The Sphinx's eyes go wide, and she wibbles a little before burying her head against his shoulder, slightly dazed.
Peter: He nudged her. "Hey, you alright?"
Adler: She nods without really picking her head up.
Adler: She's a bit preoccupied with trying to get the soaring/sinking feelings running around in her gut (and the rapid heartbeat in her ears that HAS to be her own) under control.
Peter: "So, youw ant me to get you that Hot Chocolate?"
