[edit] Definition

A sub-APS Failed to parse (Can't write to or create math temp directory): H

of an APS of groups Failed to parse (Can't write to or create math temp directory): G
is said to be weakly characteristic if any APS automorphism of Failed to parse (Can't write to or create math temp directory): G
takes Failed to parse (Can't write to or create math temp directory): H
to within itself. Note that this is weaker than the condition of being a characteristic APS, where we in fact demand that every automorphism of every member should preserve the corresponding subgroup.
