[edit] Before Angelique
When Tokyo Mew Mew originally started they were completely secret up until Mew Ichigo exposed them to protect Zakuro on a TV show. Throughout the alien battle and for a few years afterward they were hugely popular for protecting the planet. However, but 2004, their popularity was falling because the girls couldn't transform as much until they were just mentioned in passing and thought to have disbanded.

When news of the Angelique reached the public the Mews started appearing again to help round up Angelique and Mew Aqua. Their popularity sparked again but only the original 6 (Mew Ichigo, Mew Mint, Mew Lettuce, Mew Pudding, Mew Zakuro and Mew Berry) were known. The new news and little-known Mew Ringo now struggle to become as popular and trusted as the "originals".
[edit] Mentioned Merchandise
During the RP a lot of Mew Mew merchandise is mentioned. Namely...
- Mew Pancakes
- Pancakes that look like Mew Mews. They are sold at booths in the park and at festivals.
- Mew UFO Plushies
- Sold at most toy stores. There are only plushies of really popular Mews.

The schools have a collective fanclub for the Tokyo Mew Mews that is made up of a lot of Mews.

Momokekino Hotaru's family's company. They are a cosmetics and toy company so sell Mew Make-up and toys. Hotaru often makes special requests to have merchandise made of Mew Mews she really likes.
