=====Status of the Maji=====

In Centria at least, anyone showing a certain level of Majik talent is taken
and trained forcefully at the Centrian Royal Majik Academy. These Academy
majik users are granted the rank of Maji when they swear loyalty to the King
and are dispersed throughout the Kingdom in various positions. The elected
(and usually strongest) Maji in each Majik color is knighted High Maji and
holds that title until displaced.

Centrian Maji hold the title "Maji" and are considered "Sir" or "Madame"
(i.e. Sir Reese Davis or Maji Reese Davis)

High Maji hold the title "High Maji" and are considered "Lord" or "Lady"
(i.e. Lady Sullivan or High Maji Diedre Sullivan)

There are only so many High Maji, and they are (so far):

Black - [[Diedre]] Sullivan (dissenting)
White - [[Amart]] Helding
Orange - [[Dalton]] Kendall
Red - [[Aroshi]] Yamabiko
Violet - [[Sampson]] Esper
Green - (not filled)

Any majik user not ordained, knighted or otherwise sanctioned by the Academy
or the Crown is considered a rogue maji and, previous to Aroshi's overtaking
of the throne, considered the highest class threat. They are hunted for
large bounties by all sorts of people. The only exception to this rule are
White Fleet Maji, who are ordained by the Fleet itself.

Previous to the instatement of the Academy, some majik users swore loyalty
to the King and others did not. During the 10 Year Witch Hunt, when
Centronis III took the throne, many rogue maji and witches were "tried" and
slaughtered in a historic homage to King James' witch hunts.

=====The Royal Centrian Majik Academy=====


Although the organization of the Academy is irrelevant in that it is now
disbanded and being reconstructed into a new school, obviously any Academy
Maji would still find this information relevant.

Majik caliber is measured on a scale of 0-5, 0 being none or a very minimal
amount of majik and five being High Maji caliber and considered high
priority/threat in the eyes of the Centrian Empire. Majik caliber can be
measured by most Violet Maji who are trained in it, though much of the
student seeking and caliber rating was done by [[Cipher]] Felonis, attendant and
advisor to the King.

Once inducted into the Academy, a student goes through primary majik
instruction -- basic theory (Centrian Majik Theory is taught, of course --
this is the majik theory in place for most of ARPG's experience of majik.
Some people use other theory, though, such as Noct ["Pink Majik" doesn't
exist in Centrian Theory; teleporting would be considered Orange Majik]),
their role as maji in the Kingdom, etc. These classes are also used as a
sorting method; once sorted, students are ranked by age, caliber and skill.
The classes are numbered by year/caliber. (Note: "Year" is approximately
equivalent to high school; 1 = freshman, 2 = sophomore, 3 = junior, 4 =
senior) After passing their fourth year in training, Maji aspirants are then
put through a series of rigorous tests and made to swear loyalty to the
Crown. If their testing suffices, they are knighted Maji.

Example: [[Justin]] Maverick was found at a young age by Cipher. After being
sent to the Academy and passing through primaries, he was determined to have
caliber 4 black majik. He was in his junior year when he left the Academy,
so he would have been in class Class 3-4. Other students in his class
were/are [[Dragon]] White, Ebony Farasi, Kalidah Jet'sa and Olivia Piper. While
Justin escaped the Academy, the others in his class went on to be in class
4-4.

Others with very strong Majik power, deemed too powerful/dangerous to remain
mostly up to their own devices even at the Academy, are trained personally
within Centria. Usually these are caliber 5 Maji, such as Aroshi.

=====The White Fleet=====

The White Fleet is the only large, organized non-affliated sect allowed to
peaceably operate outside of the Centrian Empire/Jurisdiction. It is allowed
this freedom as long as it (and its members) are sworn to maintain only
peace and to never aid any enemy factions or forces in conquest of Centria.
The White Fleet is run by several commanders (headed by Fleet Commander
Wendy Ryder) and is allowed to grant the titles of Maji to its members. The
White Fleet remains a strong political entity in Centria despite its
non-action commitment. Its leading delegate is Amart Helding, who also holds
the title of High White Maji (a Centrian title).

Although the Fleet has a policy of neutrality in Centrian politics, it is
also a large landholder and fairly wealthy and thus an important element in
Centrian affairs. Since the ascent of Aroshi to the throne, the White Fleet
has become more integrated into Centria.

The White Fleet retains the right to any maji admitted into the Academy who
shows mainly White Majik talent. The Fleet has also been known to lobby for
certain at-risk individuals for health reasons.

====Division of Majik Polarities====
=====Black Majik=====

Black majik involves offensive spells, such as fireballs. It's broken down into a few categories. Type one involves fire and electricity, and is considered conjurative.  Type two includes water, ice, wind and earth, and involves the manipulation of elements already present in the atmosphere or environment.

The ''black majik'' classification is different on Fisher Continent and among the Jakkali.

=====White Majik=====

White majik is the most common type of majik used.  It's purpose is generally related to healing, and is often found in use by doctors and church/shrine workers.  Nearly all people have a very small amount of white majik control.  Children and young adults found with high levels of white majik are often trained by the White Guild in place of the Academy.

=====Red Majik=====

Red majik involves manipulation of people. While this is usually limited to minor control, such as hypnosis or persuasion, some users have exhibited amounts that can expand to full control over others' bodies, minds, and emotions. Red majik users are considered rare compared to the other types.   They often employ unique methods to control their majik, depending on their preferences.

=====Green Majik=====

Green majik pertains to manipulation of plants and related micro-organisms. It is theorized to involve the interaction of solar energy and molecules that nurture plants.  This can include oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and carbon. Through this control, green majik energizes plant life particles causing rapid growth. Green Majik is also related to the controlling of animals (or rather, non-humans).

=====Violet Majik=====

Violet majik is the study of psychic arts.  It encompasses telepathy, telekinesis, clairvoyance, psychokinesis, premonition and oraclism.  As with white majik, most people have a low level of violet majik, but the variance is small.   A person with high levels of violet majik is not necessarily able to perform all aspects categorized as violet majik.   Magik users of this color often specialize in a specific skill type.

=====Orange Majik=====

Orange majik is a blanket term used to group unknown or unclassified types of majik.   It is most common form of majik found among the Jakkali, who have their own form of majik classification.  Orange majik tends not to be as strong as other forms of majik.

=====Yellow Majik=====

Yellow majik is considered the "helping" majik.  It strictly includes seven types: Levitation, illumination, forensic identification, conjuration, racking and storing, negasis, and shielding.  Tasks involving yellow majik can often be performed with other types of majik, but function differently when performed by a yellow maji. Yellow majik is often collapsed into Orange Majik classification.
