They are more or less a club for the old men of power in the empire. The most famous alleged member of this group is First Space Lord Allaware. Naturally the commanding officer of the empire's space navies refuses to confirm or deny his membership but rumour is naturally rife.

MI6 Internal Report "The King's Men"

Our agent at the Lord Wyndham Nugent Club on Phobos sent this via the Red Bag encrypted communications relay:

Speaker: D'Arcy Porthampton - Banker with Lloyds of Mars

"The King's Men? I have heard tell that they were behind the breaking of the Siege of Kuala Lumpur back when old Allaware was still a lad. Everyone knows they are the ones calling the shots out in the colonies."

Speaker: Sir Srinidar Ram-Carstairs - Planetary Representative for The British Space Shipping Co.

"So you say, but D'Arcy...who are they? How many of them are there?"

Speaker: D'Arcy Porthampton - Banker with Lloyds of Mars

"Srin, I have heard it said that the Prime Minister is a member, as is the Chancellor of the Exchequer. There is a rumour going about at board level back at home office that old Hannay, that asteroid mining chap...the one who made his packet on the platinum markets is one of them."

Speaker: Sir Srinidar Ram-Carstairs - Planetary Representative for The British Space Shipping Co.

"Sir Michael Hannay? Surely not. I met the man once at my club back on Earth...he's such an affable old sort."

Speaker: D'Arcy Porthampton - Banker with Lloyds of Mars

"Well they only take the most wealthy, educated and connected men in the empire and Hannay certainly is that"
