Shorebirds is the first mission of Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. An SR-71 Blackbird of unknown orgin has penetrated Osean airspace. After ignoring several warnings, the Osean Coastal Defense Force fired a SAM that damaged the SR-71. Wardog squadron's mission is to intercept the SR-71, but not to fire at it.
Blaze (the player) is on the number 4 position. During the mission, several unmarked fighters attack.
Trivia
- On the SR-71, one can see red and yellow markings, along with "Yuktobanian Air Force" written in white on the fuselage.
