First Flight is the fourth mission in Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War.
Mission description
It is the end of September 27th, 2010: the first day of the Circum-Pacific War. A Yuktobanian force of B-1 Lancers and other fighters have attacked Osean base Sand Island, home to Wardog squadron. Blaze (the player) has to command the squadron of only three aircraft to defend the island.
During the mission, Hans Grimm, a 19-year-old replacement pilot still in training, taxis out onto the runway in a fighter during the battle despite repeated warnings not to. After the battle, he joins the squadron due to Jack Bartlett's MIA status.
