Ace Combat 4 takes place in 2004. It is told in a letter to [[Mobius 1]] by [[Boy|a man who was a child during the Usea War]]. After the fall of the [[Ulysses 1994 XF-04]] asteroids crash, [[Erusea]] has blitzed the continent of [[Usea]]. On the final day of Summer, the boy was walking to school when he saw several [[fighter]]s dogfighting. Two of them got close, and one used his guns to shoot down the other. This aircraft crashed into the boy's house and killed his parents. As the winning fighter turned around to confirm his kill, the boy saw a large thirteen in yellow on the Su-37.
