History
As revealed in Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, Belka has attempted to invade the eastern countries many times, possibly for hundreds of years. In the late 1980s or early 1990s, Belka was in a despression and allowed part of its territory to become Ustio. But Ustio became rich off resources and Belka waged war in the east again, after being taken over by an extreme right-wing party. This was known as the Belkan War, featured in Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War.
They blitzed all the other eastern country and nearly took all of Ustio, but mercenaries were hired to aid in the battle. Belka began to lose. On June 6, 1995, to repel the enemy forces, Belka dropped several nuclear bombs on its on soil. Later that year, Belka would surrender.
In Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, in the year 2010, Belka sparked the Circum-Pacific War between Osea and Yuktobania, but were later defeated.
Trivia
- June 6, the day when Belka nukes itself, is also the date of the World War II Battle of Normandy.
