Chapter 1
My Name is Riley.
And I thought it was just a game.
But then came a nightmare involving a familiar face. The knight's face. It asked me to read alongside it about its favorite champions of this world's ancient mythology:
The Animorphs.
Basically these earth kids who are no older than I am right now who have fought this war against these parasites called the Yeerks. Not once, but twice did the Yeerks attack the world. Infesting humans to use as controllers in their unending schemes for global conquest. There were plenty of other creatures from across the stars ranging from Chee, Taxxon, Pythag, Hork-Bajir, so many strange alien creatures that I got lost in the mythology until I heard that their second war bled into other worlds such as my own and wages on still with many a controller seiging positions of political power in those worlds before infesting every lifeform on earth if not outright erasing that world from spacetime outright.
This frightened me at first for when I was young, I did not know about the demented twists and turns the universe did to get ourselves into our proper place. I cared not for what came before the imaginary world me and my young couisin 'created'.
When I was young, I was not a soldier.
Me and Bonnie were just playing with our toys, giving chase to the cunning bandit 'One-Eyed Bart' and his family as he makes off with Gazillions of dollars in golden coins and rescuing Bo Peep from Evil Dr. Porkchop's nefarious army. We were just being the little kids that we were at the time.
"Fwuhuhuh!" I snorted in my performance as the Scary Witch who had come to ruin our fun before we could take a bite out of our Jellybean Burgers. "Coffee, Coffee, Everywhere!"
"Look out for her Witchy Powers, Cousin!" cried Bonnie.
"With her aim, why would I bother?" I snarked to the dolly I used as my puppet. "Really, now? How can you say that when the both of you are the size of a pencil."
touché...
"Let's get to the spaceship!" yelled Bonnie as she rushed to the closet, "Hurry!"
"Hope ya got hyperdrive on this puppy," I spoke to my cousin as I raced her.
"Hyper-Hyperdrive!" with a gleaming smile, she reminded me of why I thought of her as the sister I've never had. After a bit of digging through the closet for the box we use for the spaceship. "Ready when you are, Pal!"
"as I'll ever be."
Long story short, we saved the day in time for beddie-bye. Bonnie's twin-sized bed was big enough to accommodate the two of us as well as Bonnie's collection of Toys. Some plush, Some plastic, all toys that she herself owned, be it through being handed down from her mom or by simply getting a new one out of the box via Christmas or birthdays. But there was one strange mirror she got the other day completely out of the blue. She was holding it tight, smiling.
"Hey, Riley. We all know you'd make a great doctor-musician-astronaut-explorer, right?" Bonnie smiled.
"Right!" I chuckled back.
"Me, I wanna be a princess... except tough, independent, loyal to my friends!" boasted little Bonnie. "Like you, sis."
I chuckled like you would if you were blissfully unaware of politics. "Really..."
Before that first dream, I was a regular kid unaware of the true nature of the world at large and how it came to be. Back then, all I cared about was where I was going to get one of those Mirror Bears. But now, I just wanted to get rid of that bear the first chance I get.
"A Ninja Princess with a Magic Key!" cheered Bonnie, "That's what I wanna be when I'm big!"
"And just where do you think you can find one?" I asked my cousin to which she pulled from the mirror a Key.
The Key that could change my life forever.
Chapter 2
I asked for the key and she just handed it to me with a smile on her face, unaware of the adventures that were about to unfold by taking this key.
"Cool, there's a poem on the tag!" cheered Bonnie as she held the teddy bear and read aloud: "In your hand, take this Key. So long as you have the makings, then through this simple act of taking, its wielder you shall one day be. And you will find me, friend—no ocean will contain you then. No more borders around, or below, or above, so long as you champion the ones you love!"
"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" Bonnie bounced her head skyward before I chuckled to myself, "Why that's impossible, who could ever learn to love a TICKLE MONSTER!"
And thus tickling and giggling ensued, My Mom and Bonnie's Mom had to restrain us for a little while (going as far as to lull us to sleep with Beauty and the Beast) before we drifted off to Dreamland...
...Or at least, what we thought was dreamland.
When I snapped awake, Me and Bonnie were side by side, restrained by... Monkeys?! Each hanging off of each other monkey's arm in a strange pattern, Almost like one of those Barrel of Monkeys Toys you find in your stocking at Christmas Eve. I glanced down at the shark tank below me and it was filled with these Angler fish-Shark hybrid creatures that were obviously no laughing matter.
"Bonnie... Bonnie, WAKE UP!" I yelled at the girl as her eyes immediately snapped awake screaming about a nightmare about being eaten alive by earthworms.
"Riley!" she yelped. "Where are we?"
I glanced across the room, noting the piggy-bank/cuckoo-clock trinket on the wall with the words 'DEATH BY MONKEYS' engraved high above it. Death by Monkeys, That sounds awfully familiar... I thought to myself. "Bonnie, I think we've got an interesting Kidnapper."
"Of Course ya do!" a capsule in the shape of a boar's face floated down to our level, looming overhead as an Army in Green Masks armed with these weird looking flashlights. I was too afraid to even ask what they were so I settled on asking: "What do you want with us?"
"Why, the Sheriff of course!" sneered the voice within the capsule, "Good Ol' Mr. Pride's gotta stroll on in sometime."
Mr. Pryde, the only Mr. Pryde I know beyond the Mutant Spectrum was "Woody, Why him?"
"To Settle an old score of mine..." the capsule opened to reveal a balding man with a dull magenta toupee and a pitch-black bowler hat. He wore a finely talored dress vest even though his body was more Jack Black than James Bond. To put it bluntly, this man was exactly as I envisioned him from the Piggy-Bank I used to portray him.
"You couldn't just come to him, couldn't you, Evil Dr. Porkchop!" The man in front of me flashed a dust-eating grin the likes of which I never seen before.
"That's Mr. Evil Dr. Porkchop to you!"
Chapter 3
How could this be happening!? Dr Porkchop certainly wasn't a real person, nor was he as human as he was! This has got to be a trick! A Ploy to keep us from talking to strangers that's it, just let the cameras show up and it'll be fine.
...
...why aren't there cameras?
There should be Cameras!
"Bonnie, is this a trick!?" I asked to my cousin who merely shook her head.
"I think we're really in our dreams!" Bonnie was just as scared as she sounded.
Dr Porkchop flew his capsule to a couple of crooks with a briefcase in hand, the male was pretty much a short stack of blubber while the female was dripping with Ninja Muscle on par with a G.I. Joe. Both of which donned an eyepatch on one side of their faces. "My thanks to the man behind the mirror or should I say Mephylit Window."
"Pleasure's all mine, I'm sure!" The Man laughed to himself whist opening the briefcase to grasp at at the Thousand Dollar Bills "Money! Money! Money!"
"Well flipping done, One-Eyed Bart." I said in a deadpan monotone specifically to hide my shock that he managed to penetrate the fictional world, "You've somehow made part of that 50 Bazillion Dollar Bounty on your head justified in my eyes, Keep this up and I might have to turn you in and cash the check."
"We'll see about that ya little ankle biter." Sneered One-Eyed Bart, One-Eyed Betty rolling up her sleeves preparing to get her hands dirty when a deep, malicious laugh echoed through the halls as a boy in a black cloak, lanky with minimal artificial muscles pulsing through his otherwise wimpy body. He raised his hand into the air with a rune in his palm as a storm started to creep into the arena, bolts of lightning rocked the set as a slender figure emerged from a mystic portal shaped like a little plush doll. Long Legs, Thick thighs, athletic calves, ample bussom, and a face seemingly chiseled by gods to be as masculine yet feminine as humanly possible.
The Figure of an adult woman.
The Figure of the scary witch that Dr. Porkchop has decided to make his wife.
"Hi, Honey! I'm Home."
