[edit] Battle Plants

Who knew a rose with a shadow bug inside would Make it a beautiful (but Deadly) plant Woman? Taboo Knew! The Battler is the front-line fighting unit of The Plant Type Hives in the Subspace Army. Though not particularly skilled in the use of Weapons, their own vines are designed to be more powerful and better at grappling and transforming an opponent than the standard vines that come on every other Legion. They also have heavier-than normal armor, and while most carry some sort of a weapon as backup, they rely on transforming an enemy to stop them from fighting.

[edit] Biotech Plants

The Subspace Army is renowned throughout the galaxy as the makers of environmentally-friendly, cost-effective devices, and the Biotechnicians are the Legion who create these devices. While they can make devices that run on biotech batteries available in most stores in the galaxy, they particularly excel at making devices compatible with the bio-ports and implant terminals that all Legion Pilots possess, making them the Q to the Pilot's James Bond equivalent.

[edit] Consort Plants

Originally, Consorts were designed with deception in mind. Their beautiful bodies and ability to disguise themselves a humans made them perfect spies, and they could convert large populations without much notice. Since the war is over, though, there is no need for the Consorts as spies, and instead now they use their specially-designed armor to take roles as actresses, being used in holovision shows, theater plays, and video games.

[edit] Defence Plants

Defenders are used to protect the most vital parts of Legion's hives and Subspace Bombs, or when transforming a threat isn't a viable option. Defenders take on mechanical and non-sentient foes, using their martial arts skills and training with heavy weapons to smash their foes. They have the heaviest armor of any Legion, and rarely retract it, making them scary-looking most of the time.

[edit] Duchess Plants

Plant Types are devoted to preserving both plant and animal life on a planet, and sometimes a species is too weak to survive without their help. Duchesses were created to transform animals into Legion creatures, who retain their purpose but have a new form, which is better-suited for being friendly with the environment. The Duchess up here is shown with a Rock Crab, one of the more popular pets used for defense.

[edit] Pilot Plants

The Subspace Pilot plant is the James Bond of Legion, able to utilize a number of nifty devices and drive any vehicle. In addition to a number of handheld devices, created by Biotechnicians, a Legion Pilot may have more compact devices installed as Implants, giving them access to a limited number of spells. Legion Pilots are also more well-known for their ability to pilot Legion ships, channeling their magical energy into the systems of the ship.

[edit] Hive Princess

Hive Princesses have two purposes in a Hive. The first, and most obvious by their appearance, is that of DNA storage. Most princesses are created from hosts with bodies that a Queen sees useful. She can then use the DNA to create her own strain of Legion with its own advantages. The picture above shows a Dragon-person who was transformed into a Legion princess for that purpose. The second purpose of the Princess is as a mental buffer for the Queen. Normally, the Queen would feel any pain that a Legion feels, but the Princesses help reduce the effect by spreading it throughout themselves. While it may not sound pleasant, they're given very comfortable places of power near the queen and are usually more pampered than even the Queen herself.

[edit] Hive Queen

A Hive Queen is created when a sentient being is transformed by a Legion Seed, as in the Legion TF sequence. Legion Queens have the ability to grant any other Legion Facet to someone they transform, and may create a seed of their one approximately once per year. They may also create Princesses, a special type of Legion made to give the Queen access to more DNA, allowing her to create Daughters with beneficial evolutions. There is one Queen per Legion Hive, and the Hive is always named after the Queen. If the planet is Legion-controlled, it shares the Queen's name, as well.

[edit] Recruit Plants

The Recruit Plant is a new creation of the Subspace Army, to help put a more human face on the faction as well as to create more customized transformations. Recruiters have a fraction of the Queen's ability to impart unique transformations upon her "victims", and most are given the ability to change someone into other types of Legion. Recruiters have the most human-looking appearance and some great personal skills.

[edit] Renew Plants

All Legion have the ability to root into the ground. The Renewer's powers play off that ability, and they can basically pump the ground with healing power, which heals all nearby rooted Plants for awhile.

[edit] Hive Terraformer

The Terraformer is the primary spellcaster for the Subspace Plants. They utilize Subspace Plant's natural ability to root into the ground to cast spells that spread through the land, affecting anyone standing on it. The Terraformer can "turn off" parts of the spell that would hit rooted friends, making them great at casting area-of-effect spells without damaging their allies. Legion Terraformers are also the primary builders for their society, using their abilities to grow new rooms for their Hive.

[edit] Hive Trainer

Learning a spell can take years for most people, and entire lifetimes can be spent accumulating a enough spells to fill a spellbook. Legion Trainers are Legion's way around that. Since all Legion within a hive communicate telepathically, a Legion can cast any spell that another Legion knows, and Trainers are made to hasten this process. A Legion Trainer has extensive knowledge of a single spell, not only allowing other Legion access to that spell, but granting her the ability to amplify the properties of the spell. While they can only cast one spell, they can cast it really, really well.
