-(Riza is pouring herself a drink when she notices that the house is unusually quiet. Obviously this means something is wrong with Takashi. She opens the door to find that it's not as messy as it usually is, and her son is wrapped from head to toe in a bedsheet.)

-Riza: ...Takashi.
-Waku: ...
-Riza: Takashi, I know you're depressed over Kozue. And...I think I can help help you through it.
-(we see Mother and Son sitting together with mother Riza drinking a scotch and son Takashi drinking orange soda.)
-Riza: My father was quite a prankster and a master hunter extraordinare, he was strong hearted, energetic, lively as all hell... to say it was devastating when he passed on is an understatement. My family was robbed of a great man before he could see the greatest days of my life, my high school graduation, my college days, my wedding, my honeymoon, and the birth of his grandson.
-Waku: ...That would be me, right?
-Riza: (smiles) All I'm saying is if it's difficult to handle the death of a parent, how much harder it must be... to deal with losing a friend.
-(Waku looks at his soda, takes a sip.)
-Waku: You'd think a swig of my favorite drink would be enough to get me mind off things. You adult have that nerve-numbing alcohol to fix everything, while we have... orange soda.
-Riza: Yeah, least we adults can nullify any thought through our proverbial 'witch's brew'. You only have sheer willpower to rely on. How 'bout this? When you hit the drinking age, I'll take you to the bar where your father and I hung around at during college. How does that sound?
