Whirl & Slike: The Beginning was a story in RP Chornicles that showed how Whirl first battled against Slike and how he first met Evelyn.
Characters (in order of appearance): Whirl, The Doctor, Spark the Bat, Slike F. Elion, Magic the Cat, Evelyn, Possibly Others?

Story
Chaos at the Café
The story began at a café at the outskirts of Station Square. Tabbir "Whirl" was reading a newspaper on the triumph of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles earlier that year. While wondering how they always manage to defeat Dr. Eggman, Whirl noticed something sparkling under the table... it was the yellow Chaos Emerald! Soon after taking it, two characters appeared--one was a cyborg bat named Spark, while the other came out a strange telephone booth that seemingly appeared from nowhere. He simply called himself The Doctor. Suddenly up in the sky, a giant, black cruiser appeared. Believing that finding the emerald was telling him that it was his turn to be a hero, and also believing the ship was Dr. Eggman's, he headed up to the cruiser, Spark and The Doctor following.
A Feline Foe
On the ship, they found not Dr. Eggman, but a black cat who introduced himself as Slike. He trapped them in an energy field and revealed to have 3 emeralds already. He planned to take Whirl's emerald, and a robot came out of the ceiling to attack them. It ended up being defeated, only to have it turn out to be the power core; the ship began to go down. Whirl, Spark and The Doctor escaped, landing safely at the Aquatic Ruin Zone.
The emerald Whirl had began to detect one further down the area, so the group of 3 headed through the area until they found the Emerald. Suddenly a set of three claws grabbed it and a Totem Pole Robot came up from below it. Slike appeared, still planning on taking Whirls' emerald, but the group of 3 were able to defeat Slike's robot and instead take the Aquatic Ruin Zone emerald. Slike ran off, but suddenly they were attacked by an unforseen foe. During the fight, it turned out to be a female feline named Magic; after learning they weren't villains, Magic went along with them to help.
Kidnappings and Caves
Meanwhile, at Hill Top Zone, a young female rabbit named Evelyn was watching the clouds go by. Suddenly, a shadow appeared over her...
Back with the main characters, they found themselves at the Hill Top Zone, where another Emerald awaited them. At the end, however, they did battle with another of Slike's robots, this one a brontosaurus-like one. In the end, it was defeated, and they got a 3rd emerald. This left only one emerald left, which was in the Mystic Cave Zone. When they found the emerald at the end, a large mole robot took it before they could grab it, and Slike trapped them between walls. As the battle raged on, the cave began to collapse from all of the shaking; Slike quickly ran off, and the walls collapsed. As the group attempted to escape, the molebot chased after them; at the end, they escaped while the molebot was crushed. It dropped the emerald, giving them one ahead of Slike. All that was left was to get Slike's emeralds.
Unpleasantries
When they left Mystic Cave Zone, they found themselves at the Oil Ocean Zone. Once they got through the filthy wasteland, they were suddenly attacked by a scorpion tail, which then stole the 4 emeralds they had. It was, in fact, a robot of Slike's that was apparently a washing machine with a scorpion tail. Slike left, flying off to his fixed-up cruiser with some sort of hovercraft, and now with a kidnappee--Evelyn. The group battled against and defeated the robot. They then chased Slike up to his cruiser.
The first thing that occured was a mass of Slike-bots. Once these were all disposed of, the two groups ended up getting separated--Whirl on the left, while Spark, The Doctor, and Magic were on the right. Whirl went to the control room, where Slike and Evelyn were; Whirl and Slike began to battle, while the others went to a room with a machine powered by the Chaos Emeralds. It attacked them, but they were able to defeat it by using its own energy against it; this was once again the power core of the ship, so once it was destroyed, the ship began to go down. Slike escaped quickly, then the group regrouped along with the now-rescued Evelyn and escaped. The 7 Chaos Emeralds were scattered once more; the story ended with The Doctor commenting on that Whirl got the girl, although Whirl didn't realize that would actually come to be true.
Original Story
The original story did not change too much; most of the changes involve simple loss of the original story, and thus some changing around.
The main change involves Metal Shadow. Because Metal Shadow was scrapped as a character, it is not in the story; however, in the original, it helped out throughout the whole story. Other than that, a few of the robots may not have been the same as the original. In addition, a few small changes here and there are likely.
Trivia
- The Areas that appeared from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 move in order with the exception of Casino Night Zone, which was skipped. Topmonhit says this was due to the transition making no sense for either before or after the zone.
- This was the only RP Chronicles story Sub used The Doctor in.
- This is Spark's first appearance but he'll appear in later stories.
- The Doctor is the main protagonist of a British TV series named Doctor Who.
Connections to Other Stories
- This story marks the beginning of Whirl and Slike's rivalry and Evelyn's love for Whirl.
- Whirl and Slike's rivarly would come to a climax in Mobius Chaos Episode II: Decisive Plan! The Finale of Black Cat Slike!
