A brave and assertive woman, brought up in Forthampton. The culture shock of marrying Konstantin and the truth of what he is and his relation to Jarrick have shocked her, but she has remained loyal and very much in love with the Emperor. Her strength is no match for a Solitaire but she makes up for it with sheer gall and skill! Psycho-Conditioned she is nevertheless tough as nail and as hard as it is possible to be without going as fair as the Project. Her compassion have enabled her to understand the minds of the 'Solitaires' she is to be regarded as their link to natural born humans and also the bedrock of thier sanity.
After being attacked by a 'Solitaire' named Khaine she was left without kidneys. As a result Konstantin had her father King Aaron II of Forthampton called over to Trodenhiem so he could get his blessing to use the Solitaire Project to save her life. Although details of the exchange are unkown, the King eventually allowed it to be done, effectively making Kathryne a 'Solitaire'.
