Harbormaster

The Harbor Master is an official variant for The Settlers of Catan and its expansions, first introduced in the Atlantis scenario book. It was created by Klaus Teuber.

Rules

The Harbor Master is yet another way to win points in any Catan game. It simply adds a new special card, known as the Harbor Master, to the Longest Trade Route and Largest Army special cards. It is played in much a similar fashion. The player who has the most harbors receives the Harbor Master card and 2 victory points. If another player builds more cities and/or settlements beside harbors, that player then takes the Harbor Master cards. Naturally, this means that the total points that can be earned in a game is increased, thus the points required to win the game should be increased by 1. That means in a basic game, it takes 11 victory points to win.
