The Colonies of Catan is an official variant for The Settlers of Catan released in the Netherlands only. It requires The Seafarers of Catan to play.

For centuries a large island in the ocean is waiting to be settled. It has a lot of exotic resources. Of course the settlers of Catan want to make money from these scarce resources. But the resources first need to be moved to the coast, and from there overseas to the home island. A logistic nightmare, but the gains make up for it.
