Floating Presents are often found in AC:WW. They are essentially presents tied to a balloon, floating in the sky (shown on the top screen of the DS when outside and not in menu mode). They will be floating in a straight line, from one side of the map to the other, in the same general area every time. If a present is floating around, you will also hear a 'whoosh' noise if your speakers are on. This noise will be louder the closer you get to the present. They can be shot down using the slingshot. Make sure you are accurate, as a miss may cause you to lose your chance of getting the present when it floats off the side of the sky. With a normal slingshot, it would be wise to use the 'space invaders' strategy of shooting slightly ahead of the present so that your shot meets the balloon by the time it reaches the top screen. Also, in order to actually hit the present, you must be at the top of the map. A safe bet would be to be within the top 5 rows of units (on the ground, not on the map). Make sure that you don't hit the present near any area where the second row of units is not covered by any trees or water, or else it may land in the tree/water and mysteriously vanish.
Floating Presents will only appear at certain times- times that end with 4 minutes (i.e. the time would be in HH:M4 format). It also seems that they will only appear during daylight hours.
When unwrapped (as you would unwrap a present attatched to a letter), the present will reveal an item, most often a piece of furniture, although other items have been reported.
The 15th item that you shoot down from the sky will result in a Golden Slingshot prize.
