Redd (also known as Crazy Redd) is a fox who will arrive at your town once a week (on a day you specify to Lyle) and set up his tent outside the Town Hall. To get into his tent, you need a password. Once inside, he will sell you rare and not-so-rare items at massively inflated prices. It's possible to buy Paintings from Redd, but there is always the possibility that he has sold you a worthless forgery.

To get into his tent, Redd will demand a password. Once you have paid him 3000 bells to become a member of his club, he will post the password onto you in the mail. The password can be discovered by other means though, your neighbours will know the password and one of them may let it slip.
