Kohen Godol is an honorary position customarily given to the past Godol of an AZA chapter/council/region. The Kohen Godol may act as a counselor, and help the guidance of the chapter, as they were past president.

The Grand Aleph Kohen Godol is normally the previous Grand Aleph Godol, it is a mainly honorary position since the portion of the opening rituals in which the Kohen Godol leads the body in prayer is read by the Grand Aleph Shaliach.
The current Grand Aleph Kohen Godol is Jason Wachs from Cleveland, OH and an alumnus of David Berger AZA in ONR (Ohio Northern Regions)
