Great Midwest Region (GMR) is a region of BBYO located in Illinois spanning Chicago and its suburbs. GMR is made up of 11 chapters; 6 AZA, 4 BBG, and one BBYO chapter.

Regional Overview
Former Name/s: Illinois Council, Chicago Council Geographic: Greater Chicagoland from Homewood/Flosmoor to the Wisconsin Border
GMR has 11 strong chapters in the Windy City of Chicago full of the most energetic members in the Order! Each chapter meets weekly for either a meeting or program. We have dedicated advisors who are here to help guide and serve our members as positive role models.
BBYO in Chicago use to be known as the Illinois Council and Chicago Council. 4 years ago the councils merged into what is now known as the Great Midwest Region and will continue to carry on with it's unique flavor and tradition.
GMR is here to help our youth develop leadership skills and a Jewish identity in a friendly atmosphere!
