Jayatsu Manufacturing is a fictional Korean manufacturing company. Jayatsu builds and sells light duty construction and farm equipment and compact cars. Jayatsu Manufacturing was founded in 1958 by C. Yoon. In August 2009, Jayatsu Manufacturing was purchased by the Am-Kor Group. The President of Jayatsu Manufacturing is Han Lee.

Jayatsu Manufacturing was founded in 1958 by C. Yoon as Jayatsu Industrial Manufacturing.

In 1968, Jayatsu Agriculture was created. Jayatsu began manufacturing farm implements in 1971 and in 1975, the first Jayatsu tractor was released.

In 1983, Jayatsu Industrial launched Jayatsu America.

In 1986, American Edwin Richards begins investing in Jayatsu America under the name EJR2.

In 1988 Jayatsu was bought by Han Lee.

In 1989, a new partnership was formed between Jayatsu Industrial and EJR2.

In 1991, C. Yoon retired as President of Jayatsu Industrial and Han Lee becomes president.

In 1992, EJR2 was merged with EJR Manufacturing.

In 1992, a partnership was formed with between Jayatsu and EJR Manufacturing resulting in Am-Kor Limited being created.

In 1997, Victor Thomas Inc. purchased 40% of Jayatsu America giving them majority ownership. VTI also purchased a 25% share in Jayatsu Manufacturing. In 1999, VTI was purchased by Lynx Equipment and LnV International was formed. In 2001, Jayatsu America was renamed to Jayson Equipment Ltd.

In 2005, Jayatsu purchased So International from J. Roberts. In 2009, So International was merged with Jayatsu Industrial and the name was changed to Jayatsu Manufacturing. Soon after, So Motors was renamed the Jayatsu Motors.

In August 2009, Jayatsu Manufacturing was purchased by the Am-Kor Group.

[edit] Jayatsu Agriculture Equipment

In 1968, Jayatsu Agriculture was created. Jayatsu began manufacturing farm implements in 1971. In 1975, the first Jayatsu tractor, the Jayatsu 310, was released. In 1983, the larger Jayatsu 520 was released.

In 1992, Jayatsu replaced the Jayatsu 520 with a redesigned version called the Jayatsu 530. In 1996, Jayatsu Agriculture was renamed Jayatsu Agriculture Equipment. In 1999, Jayatsu AE introduced a new tractor named the Jayatsu 550 and a redesigned Jayatsu 530.

In 2001, Jayatsu America was renamed by LnV International to Jayson Equipment Ltd.

In Korea, Jayatsu AE began downsizing in 2006.

By 2007, Jayatsu AE had stopped manufacturing tractors in Korea. In 2008, it was announced that Jayatsu AE may close in Korea by 2012 unless a buyer can be found. Jayatsu AE is currently focused on selling and repairing used equipment. In August 2009, Jayatsu announced that it may be shutting Jayatsu Ae down as soon as 2010 unless it can find a way to survive. On August 19, 2009 Ralph James announced that Am-Kor has purchased Jayatsu Agriculture Equipment.

[edit] Victor Jayson Equipment Inc.

Jayson Equipment Ltd. was created in 1983 as Jayatsu America. Jayatsu began importing tractors and construction equipment by 1984. By 1985, C. Yoon was looking for someone to invest into Jayatsu America. In 1986, C. Yoon met Edwin Richards who became interested in investing in Jayatsu America. Edwin Richards soon founded EJR2, to invest into Jayatsu America. By mid 1987, EJR2 had a 49% share in Jayatsu America.

In 1997, Victor Thomas Inc. purchased a 40% majority share in Jatatsu America. In 1999, VTI was purchased by Lynx Equipment and LnV International was formed. In 2001, Jayatsu America was renamed by LnV International to Jayson Equipment Ltd. In 2003, LnV began selling Jayson equipment at LnV dealerships. In 2005, LnV decides to reduce the number of construction equipment being sold in North America due to declining sales.

In 2009, it was announced that Jayson Equipment Ltd. will be merged with VT Manufacturing Inc. to form Victor Jayson Inc. The two equipment lines will be combined to form one line known as Victor Jayson. LnV purchased most of the 25% share from EJR Manufacturing giving them 60% of Victor Jayson Inc. LnV will keep a relationship Jayatsu and may work together to produce future equipment. Victor Jayson Inc. also became a member of the Am-Kor Group.

[edit] Jayatsu Motors

Jayatsu Motors was created when So International was merged with Jayatsu Industrial in 2009. So Motors was renamed to Jayatsu Motors. Jayatsu Motors is currently working on an electric car called the Jayatsu EC.
