Origins

In 2006, while working for Mississlippy, Some Guy pitched the idea of a new video project to Mississlippy. They agreed and provided Guy with a minimal budget. Guy brought some friends on board the project, including Some Person from The Really Really Low Budget News. The crew thought of the name the Low Budget Movie due to the low budget.

Plot

The movie begins with Josh and Craig walking down a road toward a house. When they arrive at the house, Matthew is introduced. Matthew leaves and encounters a creature. He tells Josh and Craig although they mostly ignored him. Therefore, Matthew leaves to go watch television. He is watching Low Budget Shopping Channel when a news ticker scrolls across the bottom of the screen informing him he was attacked by a zombie. Matthew tells Josh and Craig and they decide to do something. The go on the internet and learn of the Zombie Extermination Force.

Half way through the movie, The Extermination Force leaves due to a new customer. The crew gets frustrated and Matthew, Josh, and Craig have to fight the zombies themselves. Matthew buys a zombie detector and they find out the cause of the zombies.

Alternate Endings

Due to plot changes, at least two different endings were filmed.

In the original ending, Matthew buys a zombie detector off eBay to find the source of the zombies. The equipment leads them to a transmitting tower where the meet Gregg. Gregg tells that he caused the zombies and that he "just wanted to be popular." Some Guy was not satisfied with Gregg's acting and asked for a dubbed voice. However, Some Guy was angry with the terrible dubbing and required an alternate ending.

The alternate ending was similar to the second. Except instead of a transmitting tower the character uses a Zombie Creation Machine Do-Hickey Thing 2000. Shortly after this ending was filmed, the movie was canceled and this ending was never finished.

Original Plot

In the original 2006 version had a different plot.

The movie begins with Jay and Craig walking down a road toward a house. Craig falls in a ditch and requires medical attention. At the Low Budget Hospital, Matthew is attempting to help Craig when Jay the Assistant tries to shoot Matthew with a label maker.

Later, Matthew is attacked by a zombie and tells Jay and Craig. The group learns about the Zombie Extermination Force and hires them to exterminate the zombies.

Eventually, all the members of the ZEF are killed and the rest of the characters join together to kill the remaining zombies. At the end of the movie, Billy Bob comes back to life to tell everyone that he has been shot.

Delays and Cancellation

The movie was originally to be released in 2006 on VHS. However, when the movie was almost completed, it was decided to put the movie on a CD. This was because Mississlippy Media received new editing equipment and could edit it on a computer. However, the master version of the film was recored over to save money. Therefore, the whole movie had to be completely re-recorded.

Partway through the second recording, an important actor quit the movie without telling the staff. Therefore, Guy decided to recast his role and refilm everything. When the movie was almost finished, Guy was able to convince the actor to come back and replaced Gregg for the alternate ending. However at the test screening in mid 2007 it received poor reviews. This caused the project to be canceled indefinite.

Future

After the movie failed, Mississlippy created another division called Low Budget Media. According to sources, Low Budget Media is currently working on a new project.

Two Low Budget Movie sequels were planned (The Low Budget Movie Episode I: The First One [2009] and The Third Low Budget Movie: A Sequel to The Low Budget Movie [2010]). However, due to the cancellation, the sequels are highly unlikely.
