EJR Manufacturing is an American manufacturing company founded in Edwin J. Richards in 1936.
In 1942, EJR Manufacturing began making supplies and equipment for World War II.
In 1955, EJR Manufacturing founded Richards Motor Company. Their first car, the RMC Mark 1, was ready for production by 1960 but RMC Motors decided to delay production due to market changes. The RMC Hurricane was unveiled in 1972. The reception was mostly positive, however, RMC was losing money fast and could not even afford to produce the Hurricane. By 1973, the Hurricane was canceled and RMC officially closed in 1975.
In 1974, Edwin J. Richards decided to pass on his company to his son and to retire. Kevin Richards becomes President of EJR MAnufacturing in September 1974.
In 1976, EJR Manufacturing purchased Cool Breeze Beverages, a small juice manufacturer.
In 1989, Kevin Richards' son, Alex Richards, became vice-president of EJR Manufacturing.
In 1993 when a merger was formed between EJR Manufacturing and Jayatsu Industrial. A new company was created to represent both companies called Am-Kor Limited.
In 1996, Alex Richards became head of EJR Manufacturing after Kevin Richards retired in 1995.
In 1998, Alex Richards became the CEO of Am-Kor Limited. Alex's brother, Adam Richards became President of EJR Manufacturing.
In 2002, RMC was relaunched.
In 2009, Alex Richards steps down as CEO of Am-Kor and is replaced with Ralph James. Alex moves to Vice President of EJR Manufacturing.
