The contest begins with several people playing a XBox 360. The first one to successfully get their system to display the Red Ring Of Death wins.
If a player would like to play online, then Microsoft will give the player a 15 day trial to XBox Live.
2007
The first Red Ring of Death-o-Rama was on July 14, 2007 in Los Angeles. The winner was American, John Doe with a time of 10 hours, 43 minutes. Doe won $27 and several smaller prizes.
2008
This year's contest is taking place in Phoenix, Arizona in July 2008. It was announced in July that the prize will be a free repair job on the broken XBox and $35 in cash. The event will be known as "Microsoft's XBox 360 Red Ring of Death-o-Rama Presented by Mountain Dew Game Fuel".
