The Si4 is a car motor manufactured by Korean So Industries. The motor is used only in the So Shi-Tei. It is believed Si4 stands for So inline 4 or So industries 4.

Si4

The Si4 is an inline four motor used in the So Shi-Tei from 1983 until 1988, 1993, and 1994.

Si4v2

The Si4v2 was a redesigned Si4. The motor was used between 1988 and 1994 and had 59 horsepower. The name means, So Inline Four Version Two. In 1989, it was learned that the Si4v2 was suffering from severe problems that would often destroy the engine. Originally, So covered this in the warranty until 1990 when they could not afford it. Production of the Shi-Tei and the Siv2 ended in January 1994.

I4S

The Si4 was redesigned in 2000 and was named the I4S. The first I4S was produced in 2002 and are sill produced today. The I4S has 68 horsepower. All I4S motors are manufactured by So Industries.

I4S2

In 2007, a redesigned I4S was released. This version is designed for better fuel economy and only has 61 horsepower.
