Honda (founded 1948) is a Japanese manufacturer of lawnmowers and motorcycles. In 1974, Honda decided to build a car to compete with Toyota.

In 1991, Honda began importing the Civic into the United States. By 1999, it had become an overnight success. This caused Honda to create a manufacturing plant in Springfield, Springfield State. After the release of American version of The Fast and The Furious in 2000, the Civic became even more popular and the American Ricer was born.
