History

Beginnings

The Zombie Extermination Force began as Smith and Wesson. Smith and Wesson was founded by cousins Jimmy Smith and Patrick Wesson in 1927. The company was designed as a bootlegger and a small arms shop in Georgia, United States.

In World War II, both Jimmy Smith and Patrick Wesson went to war. While they were at war, they temporarily closed their shop and was reopened in 1946. Jimmy Smith died in the late '40s and his share of the company was passed on to his son, William Smith. The company was then run by Patrick Wesson with William helping. Wesson died two years after Smith. Smith passed his share on to his son, Mackenzie Wesson. The business was then run by a William Smith and Mackenzie Wesson together.

Buyout

In the 1950s, Smith and Wesson was caught in financial trouble. The company was struggling to make money. Mackenzie Wesson left the company in the late '50s and moved to Florida to pursue other careers. In 1963, the company was bought by Michael Parker in a deal worth approximately $17 and agreed to change the name of the company.

In the 1980s, Parker expanded the company into hunting and was renamed to Parker's Hunting Shop. The company set up a small second headquarters just outside Atlanta, Georgia.

ZEF

In the 1990s, Parker decided to retire and sell his company. His company was sold in 1996 to a small group of people. In the deal, Parker allowed them to keep the company name for another five years. In 1997, they began reshaping the business. In late 1998, the organization was unofficially the Y2k Busters. In 1999 they focused most of their year preventing Y2K. In June 2000, the business was closed.

In 2001, the company was bought by Michael Andrews and renamed to The Zombie Extermination Force. The company's focus changed to mainly hunting zombies. In 2002, ZEF closed all locations and moved to the location in Atlanta. In 2003, the Alabama Branch was created.

Marvin Buford vs. Billy Bob

On September 17, 2008 while on a training assignment in Texas Billy Bob Jr. the Fifth accidentally shot Marvin Buford with a cap gun. Buford, while physically unhurt was extremely upset at Bob. On September 27 Buford filed a lawsuit against Bob for $5 million for mental anguish and suffering for the event. On October 4, Billy Bob filed his own lawsuit against the company CEO Larry Richard for $6 million. Bob stated that it was Richard who booked the appointment and that he already had plans for that day that "did not involve a trip to Texas."

From October 6 until December 14, nobody at the ZEF had heard from or seen Larry Richard. It was discovered that Richard was on a vacation in Mexico and missed several important meetings. On December 17, by a vote of 12-1 Larry Richard was fired as CEO of the ZEF. The ZEF brought in Jim Edwards as Temporary CEO for ZEF Alabama.

On January 4, Richard launched his own lawsuit against the ZEF for $10 million for discrimination. The three cases are still ongoing.

Today

Currently, the ZEF is based out of Atlanta, Georgia and Montgomery, Alabama with bases set up throughout each state.

The ZEF is wanting to open a small store at the current locations. The ZEF Store is planning to open in mid 2008 and are asking the Smith and Wessons for help. However, nothing has been confirmed.

The ZEF is currently in a legal battle between Larry Richard, Billy Bob Jr. the Fifth, and Marvin Buford.
