History
America was "discovered" by Europeans in the early 1340s. In the 1700s, America separated from England.
The US of A was founded on July 4, 1776 by George Washington. In honor of his triumph, the capital city was named after him. To celebrate their triumph, they invaded Canada in 1812. After their defeat, the Americans started a war between themselves in 1861 and ended in 1965.
