They were given a short amount of time to design a new engine. Instead of creating a whole new engine, SIE decided to redesign the original Si4 to save time. The end result was a 68 horsepower inline four called the So Industrial Inline Four (SIF). The first SIF was produced in 2002 and are sill produced today. All SIF motors are manufactured by So Industrial Equipment Ltd.

The Si4 is a car motor manufactured by Korean So Industries. The motor is used only in the So Shi-Tei. It is believed Si4 stands for So inline 4 or So industries 4.
