The United States of America (abbreviated USA) (also known as US of A or Amerika) is a continent in the western hemisphere. The current leader is George Dubya Bush.
History
America was "discovered" by Europeans in the early 1340s. In the 1700s, America separated from England. The US of A was founded on July 4, 1776 by George Washington. In honor of his triumph, the capital city was named after him. To celebrate their triumph, they invaded Canada in 1812. After their defeat, America bought Alaska from Russia to keep Canada from getting any bigger.
