Formed in 2219, S&D disbanded in 2243 after the death of long-time lead guitar Jackie "Lefty" Harris, and they all agreed it had been a good run. Their albums are still for sale, and are some of the all-time bestsellers in England. Their farewell album, called "The Black Curtain", was, to quote drummer Max Rex, "S&D covering S&D. Plus some new sh** thrown in to piss off the critics."

As to why the band didn't remain running, Apocalypse and Flash Jackson, brothers who traded off on rhythm and bass guitar, said, "Well, Lefty was kinda our holdout. If we didn't want to practice - an' that was most o' the time - Lefty would drag us by our hides. We kinda lost will after 'e died." Rex commented that he had lost "my best friend - an' 'ow'd 'e die? At the end of a bottle. A fsckin' bottle."

S&D were: Jonathan "Johnny" Hargood, vocals Jackie "Lefty" Harris, lead guitar Max Rex (Roland Middelwell), drums Bernard "Apocalypse" Jackson, rhythm & bass guitar James "Flash" Jackson, rhythm & bass guitar
