The Mad-Science Line is a scale to describe the three ranges of Mad Scientists: Technical, Junkers and Mad.
There has traditionally been a lot of argument about the definition. By definition a line has only two ends and DA's attempts to have it reclassified as a triangle often failed. The most stable designation so far has been FerretBob's: "It's a line with Mad, Junker and Tech at the ends." When quizzed about the fact that a line only has two ends he responds "I'm at the Mad end, it makes perfect sense to me."
Mad
This means coming up with invenbtions that are completely off the wall. One of the best exponents of this is FerretBob with his lethal toasters
Tech
These are those who seem to push to extreme boundaries, and have relatively sane inventions. They have to use their natural abilites which means that theycan only use scientific laws to do things. They often fail the evil laugh and easily avoidable traps section of mad-sciene papers. One of the annoying things to ove mad-scientists is the often choose to use technology over of mad-science.
This does not mean they will not use mad-science, but they tend only to chosse the best, and pull it apart, and put it together again
Junker
This encompasses all those who create stuff that apparently breaks the laws of physics including Technomages and Junkers. This tends to be because they have a magical gift whiuch enables them to bend laws of science by using magic. There are still strict limits on what they can do though.
