39 crashes?  Some apelps and pears here  Check the qualification of the safety stats    in the developed world .  Weren't many of the crashes outside that safezone?  Indonesia.  Philippines.  The  who's looking?!  it's too hot  approach to maintenance and training.  Plus the trade in used aircraft means these babies are still trailing around the skies above Gambia and such.  Now the pilot don't wanna die, but he ain't fixin' the engines now is he?So we're likely to see an increasing number of aircraft going down, simply because there are more in the air.  In dodgy neighbourhoods.And Air France  JFC, why does anyone want to fly into a storm?  RIP and all.  But turn tail and run!  I've totally exited a diverted aircraft when informed by a shaken pilot he'd been instructed back into the stormy air by the airline.  No thankyou.I know people in aircraft structured finance, and believe me, they carry lists of aircraft flown by developed world airlines they won't fly (they check the id numbers, and simply walk off if they've made a mistake and ended up on that plane), and simply never, ever fly the rustbuckets.  Which means anything except BA, Virgin, etc etc.  Aeroflot?  Buy your grave.I've flown a lot in my time, big, small, upside down, inside out.  They key to safety is  stick with the people who know what they're doing, and don't buy off-market components.Boring so sorry  let's compare to road stats.

eltaleltoua Connecticut Valley Region BBYO spans many smaller communities. A region of just over 460 members, CVR has been a stable and consistant region for many, many years.

Geography

CVR spans all of Connecticut, South Western Massachusetts and Westcheseter, NY. There are chapters in:

  • Greater Bridgeport Area (CT)
  • Stamford (CT)
  • Greater New Haven Area (CT)
  • Ridgefield (CT)
  • Greater Newtown Area (CT)
  • Greater Hartford Area (CT)
  • Amherst (MA)
  • Willimantic(CT)
  • Eastern CT
  • Longmeadow (MA)

Chapters

These are the next division for CVR below the regional level. Each chapter encompasses an area and draws members from the local Jewish population. They hold weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly meetings.

Regional Events

These are overnights, dances, and conventions open to the entire region. They are opportunities for members to learn, develop, see their friends from around the region, and have an all out amazing time.

  • B'Yachad (a convention occurring in late August. B'yachad is crucial for chapter board members to learn about the positions they will hold for the next year.)
  • Kickoff Dance (a Dance to open the programming year in September or October)
  • Sisterhood Overnight (a one night convention for all the BBGS of CVR. Will not be occuring in 2012.)
  • Fall Convention (a convention in November. Is often themed as the "Spirit Convention".)
  • Kallah (Regional Judiac Insitute, held in January)
  • AZAA (AZA Athletics. Regional AZA Basketball tournament pitting AZA chapter against chapter. Held on two Sundays in May.)
  • Beau Sweetheart (a Dance where the Regional Beau and Regional Sweetheart are elected, happens in February or March)
  • Spring Convention (a convention happening in April or May to elect the next year's regional boards)

Spirit

CVR has very few songs and cheers and is currently looking for more good ones. If anyone has any feel free to inform them. CVR has many changing mascots, rarely keeping one for more than a year.

The current AZA mascot is Clarice the Goat.

The current BBG mascot is Snoopy.

Color

CVR BBYO's colors are Blue Yellow. It was elected at B'Yachad 2005.
