Just found your blog! I wish you the best of luck in your recovery. I have to read more as I'm not sure what hapeenpd? Are you a runner/athlete? Are you allowed to do any activity at this time. I'm a Physio and find injuries semi-interesting ;). Be sure to take care of yourself, eat well and rest your body needs fuel to repair and recover. And I personally love your view mostly because it doesn't look cold and it's -30 here in Canada (which is around -22 F I think ) . Evergreen Region (EGR), BBYO is geographically one of the largest regions in the region, though small in Membership, EGR comprises the states of Oregon (3 AZA, 3 BBG), Washington (4 AZA, 3 BBG), Idaho (1 BBYO), Montana (No Chapters yet), Alaska (1 BBYO), and the Canadian Province of British Columbia (1 AZA, 1 BBG)

Todd-Great question! Portland was actalluy the first city where I didn't know a soul. I was very skeptical when I first arrived, because wasn't confident in my abilities in immediately making friends. As soon as I got there, I pushed myself to befriend everyone I could. I went to couchsurfing events, and met up with friends of friends. Before I knew it, I had a thriving social network, as if I had been living there my whole life. That push at the beginning of my stay in Portland really paid off. By the time I left, I was constantly running into people I had already met in Portland. It was tough to leave because I had fostered so many new friendships.I have a few cousins (older/married) in Seattle, and one or two old friends I'm planning on meeting up with. Hopefully I'll still have the drive to push myself and create another social network here as I did in Portland.

Robin, right now over 90% of Mobile operator incmoe is based on Voice and SMS. That is an incredible amount of revenue, making social media or online advertisement look like very small businesses. So yes, the mobile phone is used mostly for interaction (calling, messaging). Data plans are a major barrier, but the complexity of the device too.The promise of the mobile device as a web access device has been around for many years. European Telco's almost went bankrupt on it when they eagerly bought UMTS frequencies. Only to find out the user didn't actually use data services.But I still have no doubts that eventually this will change. One major barrier is now being taken, the usability is increasing really fast now with Apple, Google and Mozilla entering this arena. There will be new interfaces, but maybe even more important much better services that integrate into this better user experience. People will try that out, first on WiFi (no costs), later using the Mobile network.But the Mobile Operators still hold another important key to success. Together they run the most successful revenue making walled garden known to man. And they won't just lower the tariffs to a level that mobile web access becomes available to everyone.
