Dad gives another code
From Torg Adventure
At the next check-in, your dad says, "I'm coming up to the meeting place. It's empty, which is what I expected and hoped. It's very quiet here. Wait! Uh-oh! Twenty men are coming out of hiding. Lots of guns and a vehicle. The groundhog sees his shadow. Repeat. The groundhog see... *crack*" A gunshot cuts off your father's voice and the radio goes dead. Your eyes are wide, and you're frozen in place.
He gave the emergency code. It means stay underground, and be afraid to go outside for six more weeks.
"Oh, my God!" you shout. "Dad!" You panic when you think you might have transmitted that, potentially giving away your position, but you sigh in relief when you look down to see that you don't have your finger on the transmit button.
Your mom and sisters rush over, very worried.
"Dad's in trouble. I think he got shot. I heard what sounded like a gunshot."
Everyone is a mess of yelling and crying. You all huddle together for several minutes, until a voice crackles over the radio.
"Hello! Hello! There's been an accident. The person you sent to meet us is injured. Send help immediately." The voice sounds sincere and concerned.
Your mother, ashen-faced, says, "It's a trick. Your father's dead. I know it." Then she faints, falling out of her chair.
What do you do next?
