The 1906 Encyclopedia Britannica volumes are a series of infamous almanacs residing in the Peter family basement. The anachronistic information in the books, along with lengthy passages describing racial stereotypes at the time are often read aloud, with typically hilarious results. The content of the encyclopedias also feeds into stock character assumptions that the Peters are ex-Nazi Party members quietly living in suburbia.
