Chances Last a Finite Time was the opening lyric to the Ozma song "Domino Effect. The full first sentence reads "Chances last a finite time, in the warm July night-time" although only the first section was later picked up by Jeremy. It became somewhat of a catchphrase in late 2004-2005 with it being uttered by him at all occasions, usually in an exaggerated Italian or vampire voice. The most common time for such an outburst however was after releasing a deep sigh, or when Jeremy wanted people to leave his abode (the more common "allllrighht, OK" coming into fashion later). The saying found its way into all manner of conversations, even as a one-line text message. It was usually simply shortened to "Chances" and was occasionally employed as a question of uncertain meaning. It was perhaps immortalized in a drawing by Kevin which is exhibited on the Transylvanian-American page.

During Ozmanight this lyric would take on added significance, as it indeed occurred on a quite muggy July evening, and in fact did only last a finite period of time.
