The Pre-College Years

In the years leading up to his arrival at the University of Washington in the Fall of 2003, very little is known about Hyung Kim that we can say with confidence to be "fact". According to various sources, Hyung was born and raised in South Korea until his fourth grade year, in which he left his native country for Washington state. Great speculation has been made that Hyung left Korea for the United States becuase Korea "smelled funny" and wasn't "cool enough" for him. Anything else about Hyung Kim's years before college is all speculation following this point.

The College Years

Hyung was introduced to the extended group in the middle of Fall Quarter 2003, when group member Terry made first contact with the foreign national. Like the rest of his past, little is known of exactly what happened during their first encoutner between the two, but Hyung appeared to have made a great enough impact on Terry as to cause him to make the now famous "Spinning Hyung Head" animated gif.
