The Data Incident has its origins in the movie 'Star Trek: Nemesis'. It is widely regarded as a prime example of Jeremy melodrama.
Origin
Gavin and Lukas went to see this movie and a main plot point was when Data heroically threw himself at a spaceship and was killed. Jeremy had been one of the largest Star Trek: The Next Generation fans of the group and he had not yet seen the movie. Jeremy was accidently spilled the beans by Lukas, leading to a collapse of Jeremy when he fell into Lukas and exclaimed "Daaaaataaaaa!!!".
