It's a short walk to the elevator and as you approach it appears to be in working condition.
You press the DOWN button and patiently wait for the elevator to arrive. As the doors slide open you almost half expect to see someone in the elevator. But alas... it's empty.
You step into the elevator and press the LOBBY button to get to the first floor. As the elevator finally comes to a stop on the ground level, you step out.
The lobby is empty. It's almost frightening how clean and perfect everything looks: the cushions on the lounge sofas are neatly in place, not a speck of dust on the floor, and not a person to be found.
You exit the lobby of the apartment complex and step into the daylight.
Outside is desolate, empty. Not a sound to be heard, nor a person to be seen. The roads are completely empty, other than a few cars parked on the the side of the street and a few newspapers blowing around the sidewalks.
This has got to be a dream.... you think to yourself.
Do you:
- Pick up the newspaper
- Take a left and walk toward Times Square
- Shout at the top of your lungs
- Take a right and head toward your friend Jim's place
