The Dice Roll System

What seperates Survival of the Fittest from a lot of others is its use of the dice roll system. It is the system that the site is built upon, and is used to decide two things mainly; the death and weapon rolls. This is to ensure that there is no unfairity in choosing weapons for characters, and to make sure that characters will actually die. Without death rolls, SOTF would take the longest of times to end.

Death Rolls

These rolls go by different names. The most common one being "dice rolls", which, pretty much, sums it up. They are done by seperating the living (active, or otherwise) characters into "teams" of six. For example:

Group A
A1 - Namea
A2 - Nameb
A3 - Namec

And so on. The next step would be to roll to decide which group is going to be picked off. Say I rolled a 1d6 (one six sided die) and the number was 1. That means I would pick out of group A. There would be a second roll done to choose an A# character. If a 3 was rolled, then A3 (Namec) would be chosen to die at the dice roll announcement. Simple, no?

Most of the dicerolls are done in AOL Instant Messenger Chatrooms using their dice rolling feature in front of a live audience. If needed, a list of the dice roll "teams" is handed out to avoid any suspicious actions.

Weapon Rolls

Weapon rolls are pretty much done the same. Gather a huge list of weapons, and categorize them. For example...

Shiney Guns
Gun 1
Gun 2
Gun 3

Big Guns
Biggun 1
Biggun 2
Biggun 3

So on and so forth. You would first roll to decide the category, much like what you would do with a Death Roll. Basically, it's all following the same system to decide a character's weapon. Weapon rolls are very rarely done over AIM, and the list has never been released to the public.

After every roll, things would be randomized for a more fair game.
