+ | Survival of the Fittest may be based on Battle Royale, but SOTF also has many differences from its counterpart. In BR, 42 students participated in the contest (21 male and 21 female) with 2 students (1 male and 1 female) being killed off at the beginning of the media, thus leaving a total of 20 male and 20 female students. Survival of the Fittest worked a little differently, and our ladies were shorthanded from the very beginning.

+ | Total Participants: 123
+ | |||
+ | As you can see, the girls were greatly outnumbered in the SOTF ACT, even from the beginning. Now, as of July 12, 2006 (SOTF Day 10), the numbers for male and female participants are as follows:
+ | |||

+ | Female Participants: 0<br>

+ | |||
+ | While the ladies of SOTF started out a staggering 28 competitors less than their counterparts, the girls have definitely held their own in this competition. During the competition, the boys have been responsible for a total of about 55 deaths during the game, while the girls have killed only around half of that at 27. The other 25+ deaths on the island have occurred by either terrorists, collar explosions, or miscellaneous occurances.

+ | |||
+ | * Several players wore hockey jerseys. River Garraty wore his school hockey jersey with his name and number on it, Adam Dodd wore a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey with a customized number and name on it (77, and DODD), and Sidney Crosby wore a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey with his own name and number on it. (87, and CROSBY).
+ | |||
+ | *Almost none of the students from Barry Coleson recognised each other, even though they'd presumably gone to the same school together for two years and possibly known each other longer than that.

+ | *Sidney Crosby, Cody Jenson, and Amanda Jones were the only quasi-celebrities in SOTF, Sidney and Cody because of their success in the OHL and NHL, and Amanda because of her father.
+ | |||
+ | ===Version 2 Characters===
+ | *At 13½ years of age, Damien Carter-Madison is expected to be the youngest SOTF contestant (registered by a player, if not ever) to date. By contrast, Alexander Ovechkin will be the oldest student participating at 21 years old.
+ | |||
+ | *Among the students with highly influential relatives, Marvin Hendrick is currently the only player whose relatives are corporation owners.
+ | |||
+ | *Alexander Ovechkin is the first real-life celebrity to participate in SOTF. As such, certain facts of his life were altered to help comply with the SOTF universe. Profile According to his handler, Satoru Kamui is heavily based on the J-Rock singer Gackt, however Satoru has not gained a comparable amount of fame as his real-life counterpart. |

The Schools
From what little we know about Survival of the Fittest, Version 0, we have been informed that the original SOTF consisted of competitors from two different schools. The first school in the competition was Aberthol High School, the school that Sydney Morvran was from. The second school was apparently Shaker High. This is unveiled in the profile of Andrew Klock, where it is stated that the students from Shaker were abducted before Andrew's transfer to Barry Coleson, which happened after the game ended (with the death of all the Shaker students who had went, seeing as Sydney Morvran, the winner, was from Aberthol.)
However, Version 1 of Survival of the Fittest took a step far beyond Aberthol and Shaker, and actually became an international terror threat. Not only were students from across the United States abducted, but students from around the globe also shared their fate. Below is a list of all the schools represented in the SOTF ACT, and their respective representatives.

Death, death and more death...
SOTF has nearly run the gamut of character death, almost every fate imaginable has befallen those who have "lost the game" so to speak. Some death causes are:
- Shot
- Stabbed
- Throat Slit
- Evisceration
- Suicide
- Dismemberment
- Grenade Explosions
- Falling death
- Drowning
- Decapitation
- Strangulation
- Bleeding to death
- Wound infection
- Collar Explosion
- Smoke Inhalation
- Being run over by a vehicle
- Being landed on by a helicopter
- Bludgeoning
- Throat torn open by teeth and
- Bisection (being cut in half).
Only a few causes have not been used, such as:
- Eaten by animal
- Poisoning
- Crossbow, or normal bow or speargun inflicted injuries
- Burning
- Crushed by falling object
- Impalement and
- Defenstration (being thrown out a window)
Battle of the Sexes
Survival of the Fittest may be based on Battle Royale, but SOTF also has many differences from its counterpart.
Program Start: June 19, 2005
Male Participants: 74
Female Participants: 46
Terrorists: 3
Total Participants: 123
As you can see, the girls were greatly outnumbered in the SOTF ACT, even from the beginning. Now, as of July 12, 2006 (SOTF Day 10), the numbers for male and female participants are as follows:
Male Participants: 4
Female Participants: 0
Terrorists: 0
Total Participants: 4
While the ladies of SOTF started out a staggering 28 competitors less than their counterparts, the girls have definitely held their own in this competition. During the competition, the boys have been responsible for a total of about 55 deaths during the game, while the girls have killed only around half of that at 27. The other 25+ deaths on the island have occurred by either terrorists, collar explosions, or miscellaneous occurances.
General Trivia
Trivia that applies to more than a single specific character.
Version 1 Characters
- All of the "Baseball Boys" (the members of the Barry Coleson High baseball team on the island) were/are wearing their team uniforms (jersey, pants and cap, though Jack O'Connor and David Jackson eventually lost their caps) on the island.
- A good deal of the "players" had dark hair (the only noticeable exception is Clemence de Rousseau, Adam Dodd as well if you consider him to be a player).
- Several players wore hockey jerseys.
- Almost none of the students from Barry Coleson recognised each other, even though they'd presumably gone to the same school together for two years and possibly known each other longer than that.
- Edward Rommel, Rais Sekth, Takara Asano, and Jill Gatling were all members of Barry Coleson High's Archery team.
- Edward Rommel, Wednesday Garci, Katherine Marks, Miranda Grey, Jacob Starr and Jamie Amy Robins all took Art together at Barry Coleson High.

Version 2 Characters
- At 13½ years of age, Damien Carter-Madison is expected to be the youngest SOTF contestant (registered by a player, if not ever) to date. By contrast, Alexander Ovechkin will be the oldest student participating at 21 years old.
- Among the students with highly influential relatives, Marvin Hendrick is currently the only player whose relatives are corporation owners.
- Alexander Ovechkin is the first real-life celebrity to participate in SOTF. As such, certain facts of his life were altered to help comply with the SOTF universe. Profile According to his handler, Satoru Kamui is heavily based on the J-Rock singer Gackt, however Satoru has not gained a comparable amount of fame as his real-life counterpart.
