Skeid is, at heart, an opportunist. He is pragmatic and cunning, waiting for the perfect moment to do anything. He is fanatically devoted to his role as High Prince and Master of the Runes, seeking nothing more than to forge all nations under his leadership in order to survive the coming Ragnarök intact. As the only leader old enough to have fought in the War before the Sundering, he remembers the land of Elibe fondly, and wants to make Maris rival or best the land of his birth. In order to do this, he believes that the Vadalian people need dominion, as they are the descendants of Svael Albendroth, the Dragonslayer, his father-in-law and the greatest general of Elibe. Skeid talks a lot without saying much outright, instead, he layers what he means in vagueness wrapped in mystery. He never reveals more than he means, as 73 years of life have taught him how to school his features and control his emotions at a level undreamed of by younger men and women. Because of his mastery of emotion brought on by age, Skeid is a talented actor, and can easily fake any emotion in order to accomplish his objectives. Above all, Skeid is a clever and talented manipulator, and one would not be wise to assume he is on any side.

Skeid is tall and muscular, like most Vadalians, and has remained so despite his age (which has been partially held off due to his use of magic). He looks old, but 10 years younger than his actual age. He usually wears thick furs and wools of Vadalian fashion, and in fact, wears the orange cloak that his father-in-law, Svael, used to wear. Avamagnos, on a gold-tooled leather belt and scabbard, is always at his hip. When going to battle or performing official functions, he wears the Rune-Plate that Svael Albendroth gave him.
Skeid has blond hair, with a few streaks of white, as well as a short trimmed blond beard that's managed to escape the steaks of white. Skeid has a hard face, not haggard or worn, but strong and hard. He was once handsome, but after the harrowing events of the Sundering and the battles with the White Dragons, his hard and weathered face is, if not ugly, certainly not attractive. His bright blue eyes are as sharp as dagger points, and to say he had an eagle's eyes would be downplaying their ferocity.
