Marian Escallyn Juajullio Bernelli

From Storing Don

  • Nation: Ainor
  • Rank: Queen
  • Age: 24
  • Height: 5'8
  • Weight: 111 lbs

Appearance & Personality

Having come from the southern islands across the sea, Marian's skin is a tanned, brown color not unlike that of the natives that live there. Her almond shaped eyes are copper in color. She has long, wavy, soil-brown hair that goes down past her shoulders, but not past her waist, and prepares it no specific way. She let's it all hang without binds, save for the black bandana around her head. She is also very--as some men like to put it-- "hot" (just like all Fire Emblem girls >_>.)

In her standard outfit, Marian likes to wear a skimpy brown vest over her torso that covers only as much as is needed to be covered. Straps hold it together in the front and the back. Her flat, six-pack abs are exposed to the world. From the waist down, she wears blue-and-white, vertically-striped, closed, bell-bottom trousers (with a fair amount of patchwork) much like those that poor people wear. She doesn't wear them because she's poor--she wears them because they're comfortable and easy to move in, like the moccasins that she wears.

However, her fiance has requested that she stop wearing these clothes in public, and begin wearing more modest clothing, such as elegant dresses. This is the only complaint he has of her.

In terms of personality, Marian is generally a very nice, calm woman whom many men who have come to her seaside cafe have fallen head-over-heels over. With her southern island accent clear in her voice (with an ever so slight husk to it that gives her character), her voice has soothed many a customer. However, it must also be known that she also possesses a mature spunk not often flourished when working. Her Sea Elephant Cafe (run only by her) serves high-quality chocolate and most foods prepared by her make use of avocadoes as a main ingredient which--along with chocolate--both interest her greatly as her most favorite food items.

However, both avocados and chocolate are both rare foods that grow in very isolated spots. Once a week, Marian travels to these spots with her dwarf horse (named 'Elephant', which, shorter and more stubby than most other horses, ironically is as agile as a mountain goat) to pick raw cacao beans and avocados. She can't deny it's sometimes dangerous.

Biography

Marian, as was stated before, is not a native to Ainor. She was born in the humid and tropical isles of Kaeldar, where the God in flesh sits on the throne where he may watch his world grow. It shall not be said that she was entirely raised there, however. Her parents, a trio of three, made up of one father and two mothers (who were twin sisters), were never intent on serving the God Emperor of the Isles because of their successful exporting business of fruits and vegetables native to the islands. Still, like everyone else, they faked it. They did not fear the man.

Marian grew up as a girl traveling by sailboat with her brave, young father to the many isles where he would sell his produce. It was around this time that Marian gained a liking for the chocolate and avocados that were so popular, and would later sell them on her own.

Soon, she wanted to go to the mainland and introduce her foods there. But alas, the God Emperor wouldn't allow any such thing. Nobody was allowed to leave. So, her family devised a scheme that made everyone believe that she got attacked and eaten by a tiger (which at the time was a well-known phrase that meant she had taken off.)

And so she escaped the isles forever with little worry, and ended up in the heart of Maris in the land of justice-- Ainor. There, she set up a little place in a strong, gnarled tree that grew over the years to accommodate sit-in customers. It was partly a treehouse cafe. There she worked, and there she lived for the next few years.

She grew her own chocolate and avocado trees in secluded areas, and served their produce as delicious pastries, sandwiches, or just by themselves. And so she has been doing this for, like, forever.

Then she met this guy. He was big and strong, with kind eyes and a good heart. He had a lot of experience and could protect her if the situation called for it. He was rich and had a big house. But he was fairly up there in terms of years. He still is. His name is Meinhard von Reichter, the Ruler of Ainor.

At first, she was so utterly surprised that this old man would come all the way down from his bastion and ask her to marry him. It was so outrageous when he, flanked by two guards, came to the cafe for the first time through the front entrance, and asked for chocolate milk. And so she made it for him, and when he drank it, he fell in love at once. With Marian-- not the milk. At first, she was so shocked that she thought she had accidentally spiked the drink. She took it as a joke at first. But after ten minutes, it was made clear that the King would not leave without an answer.

He had not even asked where she came from. Or if she had any diseases. Or if she was already married. He just asked on the spot, sitting at the counter like the other geezers next to him.

There was no question that money would no longer be a worry. And she had already reached a ripe age for marriage. However, would it mean the end of her business? Would she no longer be able to farm cacao beans and avocadoes? Would she turn into a caged spirit, forever forced to have tea and crumpets; would she forever have to wear huge, ornate, voluptuous gowns instead of comfortable trousers and skimpy vests; would her life as a free spirit end?

None of it occurred to her as she said, "Umm... okay."
