Character Information and Background

It was the year 1500. The original Control of Destiny team had been imprisioned and Empress was in a palace, mistaken for a magical noble of the current age. The soldiers of the Kingdom of Audentior were well trained and vigilant, and the CoD team was not yet the fighting force it had turned out to be. That could have quite possibly been the end of the line for everyone right then and there. But a Guard Captain named Funkius Wombat from the province of Blackrock disobeyed his orders and let the team free. They met LordStone, a very powerful magi, found Empress, and escaped. But the valiant Sir Wombat was left behind to fight the palace security, and everyone assumed that he had been torn to shreds.

Dimensional distortions, however, are weird and unpredictable things. Imagine Jason’s surprise, if you will, when he ran into someone going by the name of Wombat deep in the Snowbound mountains in the year 2002.

The Wombat of the modern times seems to have the appearance, personality, and even the background of his previous incarnation. The Fallen Empire Rogues have little to say about him, only that he is a traveler from “somewhere else” that took an interest to the plight of the Rogues and has been leading them towards stabilization. Although it seems impossible, the CoD team cannot help but wonder of Wombat is the real Wombat they once knew in the past.

Personality and Skills

Wombat is almost the personification of the phrase “never give up.” Against impossible odds, he leads his people on, continues to prepare for the future, and somehow dig his way out of the darkness towards an impossible destiny. Some attribute this to his personality, others to his choice of advisors, but many to his mysterious “Blackrock” training that seems to give him odd knowledge just when he needs it.

This mysterious training manifests itself into many forms. One of particular use is Wombat’s attack style, which is basically lightning-fast mauls with his Blackrockain Force Claws. Wombat lacks the tactical skills of such characters as Gman or Assassinite, but is still able to know when to call a retreat when things are getting a bit too impossible.
