Personality

Raymond barely passed the entrance exam by .1% even though he studied like a maniac for the prior two months. He’s naturally dumb, or so far as stupid, but he tries extremely hard at everything he does and studies as hard as he can, because he wants to learn despite his natural dumbness. Due to all his constant studying, he doesn’t often have time for friends, but when he does happen to score decently on an exam he prepared for for an insanely long time, he can relax a little and attempt to turn acquaintances into friends. He has a terrible weakness for sweet things, due to his size. There is only one thing that a lemon-meringue pie cannot distract him from, and that is his study.

History

Raymond Ishiura was born in Juneau, Alaska on August 4, 1990, the same day as the conflict in Iraq escalated from Operation Desert Sheild to Operation Desert Storm. His older brother, Jubei, was enlisted as a young private at the time and was sent with his unit to the conflict, and was killed in action when Raymond was one month old, thus, he's never met his brother. Raymond's parents gave him a purple heart shaped locket with his brother's picture in it some time later, which he's kept with him ever since.

Ray never really had many friends growing up in Alaska for the first fifteen years of his life, he was often the butt of the other children's humor, being that he was rather large for his age, he would get picked on for being the fat kid in the group, and to top it all off, he didn't have the brains to lean back on.

One thing he WAS well known for, however, was his persistance. Whenever Ray set out to do anything, he always completed it, regardless of how difficult the task was or how much it cost him. This pattern eventually led to his studies, and Raymond Ishiura has since then tried feverishly to improve his lacking intelligence by studying intensely and often fruitlessly, hoping he could somehow fix his reluctant mind.

When Ray was nearing 16 years old, his parents surprised him in telling him that they were going to move to That Country, in Europe. Not really having any good friends to miss, or anything at all for that matter to miss, he simply went with the decision. Soon after their arrival, his parents enrolled him in Second Heaven High.

After learning the standards for entrance in Second Heaven High, Raymond Ishiura set off to do what he usually did when faced with a test of intelligence, and began studying immediately, a full month prior to the entrance exam. After taking the exam, and receiving his score, the marginally acceptable Raymond started attending.
