AMTRAK "RAILFONE" PAYPHONES
Information
I usually take the Amtrak down to Orange County when I don't feel like sitting in southern California traffic. I always liked the train. In the Cafe Car, there is one phone, which is quite noticeable. I never really got a chance to really explore it, seeming how there is always an employee close by watching me close.

Quote From Amtrak's Website:
Railfone
Some Amtrak train cars are equipped with Railfone, an onboard cellular payphone service
permitting you to make private calls at your convenience.
About Railfone:
Available on many short- to medium-distance routes, and on a few long-distance routes
* Requires payment by a major credit card
* Does not accept coins or bills
* Rates are much higher than regular payphone and cell phone rates
* As with cell phones, your call may be interrupted, requiring you to call your party
again to reconnect
TTY Service with a Railfone
Any Railfone that is located close to an electrical outlet can be hooked up to portable
text telephones (TTY), supplied by the passenger.
Callers can also use the Relay Service; the phone number for this service is displayed
on the poster next to the Railfone.
