Hair: Brown. Straight hair, cut fairly short and tousled about messily.

Appearance: An average-looking human male, if he wasn't so drat tall. Vidar stands at well over six feet in height. He's rather well-muscled, but (somewhat to his vexation) it doesn't show up as bulk, instead granting him a lean frame. Generally he prefers simple clothing - his favored outfit being a pair of loosely cut slacks and similar shirt. When on the job it's hard to find him without a greatsword, either in hand or strapped to his back.
Personality: Vidar's normally rather cheerful and outgoing. At one point he decided that, since everyone apparently knew him due to his stature sticking out like a sore thumb, he might as well try his hand at that "being social" thing. His genial nature and (generally) pleasant demeanor are tempered by a sharp tongue - he's a bit too much of a smartass to be considered one-hundred percent a "nice person." Despite that he believes there is a time and a place for everything, and he might as well try to refrain from being rude most of the time. Really, it's his friends and close acquaintances that have to suffer the worst of his wit.
Despite his normal state of being being lax, actually almost lazy, the one thing that Vidar always seems enthused about is combat against other humanoids. He approaches such battles with wild, gleeful abandon, to the point where he seems to almost have no instincts of self-preservation. Put simply, he loves the thrill of the fight. As put to an exasperated guild-mate on why he seems to obsess over one-on-one armed combat, "Asking me not to fight? You might as well ask the sun not to rise." This blood-lust of his is carefully tempered, however. He lives for the challenge, not the fight itself. Furthermore his blade is always stayed from those who cannot fight, and towards those who fight for causes Vidar himself finds ill-conceived. Finding a sect of Haldians would be like his birthday come early.
Religious Ideals: The best term to describe Vidar's relation with his deity of choice is "tongue in cheek" - while he does enjoy nature, the outdoors, and the joys of free-trade mercantilism, all of the above generally do not always factor into his everyday life. About the closest he comes to worshipful practice is erring on the side of the poor, as well as making sure the jewelry he crafts is elegant, rather than overtly gaudy.
History

Vidar had a pretty nice, upper-middle class, mercantile-profession-based, childhood. And then his parents died, and he killed their murderers - and he enjoyed that, even if he went kinda batty in the process. A bit feral, he ran into a swordmaster who lived an almost hermitesque lifestyle with her daughter; she took him in and beat the crazy out of him, and helped him refine a sword-fighting technique. After getting beat up by a pair of girls for about six years, he left to travel the world and broaden his horizons. He made it to Nuln after a while, and joined the Guild - both for cash, and because he liked the organization as a whole.

Aelthir Baequi'via "You're taking 'high-strung' to a new level. Again. Just relax."
- Aelthir is the first elf Vidar had ever met and has maintained his position throughout the years as the strangest elf Vidar has ever met. He wouldn't have his pal any other way.
Alis "I hope whatever crawled up your butt and turned into a sword goes away."
- It's very likely that if, in fact, someone pointed out how well Alis and Vidar got along, they'd immediately stop getting along so well. It is a friendship based off of both respect and mutual antagonizing.
Clarent Sampo "'Zap', huh? I like it."
- Magic is something Vidar does not do, so anyone who can blink and make lightning dance gets some respect off the bat. Helping this is the fact that Clarent is his kind of people.
Fal Indelstan "Cool story, Fal. How's about another?"
- Another of Vidar's long-time acquaintances. A known ally and also known to "always have your back, bro", despite his eccentric nature. The first member of the party he turns to when it's time to hit the bars.
Katrin "Thanks for the patch-up. Same time tomorrow, probably."
- Considering his reckless nature probably would have put Vidar six feet under by now if not for clerical intervention, he gives "spooky" respect on principle.
Keilee Valentine "We should go a few rounds, sometime. Match, bar, your call. Either way works~"
- Shifters are a fairly recent entry into Vidar's personal lexicon. Despite her misgivings about being a shifter, Keilee has done a damn good job of painting them in a positive light.
Luka "...Hey. You're doin' that thing again. That's the 'I'm remembering about the time I read this in a book' face."
- Luka's alright. Sometimes he seems a bit too inclined to take the time to study things, and sometimes he seems far too inclined towards words. Kinda boring, if admittedly wiser than rushing into things headfirst.
Lyn "Just go with the flow. Crazy or not, it's gonna be a hell of a ride."
- Lyn has what is possibly the sharpest wit Vidar's ever encountered in a person. A+ would banter with again.
Nanashi "No need to be so formal - we're all pals, here. Except Alis."
- It was nice having someone to converse with in his native tongue. The fact Hotaru wound up being such a trustworthy comrade was quite the bonus.

- Scott come back aaaaaaa
Raquel Beliago "Heh, no wonder Fal vouched for you so much. Yeah, we'll get along just fine."
- More psions, more fun. Seriously though, Raquel too has shot up to the top of the "people to drink with" list.
Thymble "How's the view up there, short-stuff?"
- Though he's not sure what to make of his position as "excellent perch", Vidar can't fault the wild elf's combat skills. Kid's got potential.
