Polarity is a game for two players. One player plays WHITE and the other player plays BLACK. Each colour represents a different magnetic pole. White is aligned to south, and Black to north.

Choice of colours is made by flipping the red centre disc and calling the toss as one would a coin. The winner of the toss chooses which colour to play.

White places his foundation discs first, followed by black, prior to the game. Once the game starts, White makes the first move and play alternates between the players.
